I gave it only 4 stars because there is no LCD screen on the front panel on this player You have to buy the higher model, No function readout, time etc. Otherwise excellent.

But be sure to take an extended Best Buy warranty. I replaced mine twice since it has a tendency to freeze when playing DVDs. The third machine still freezes after playing a 5-6 hours over a couple of days. I solve that problem by completely unplugging and powering up. It seems as if a cache is being filled up which needs to be cleared periodically. Thus I got a front power off switch for the blu-Ray player. The WiFi receiver is weak and requires a WiFi extender especially if you are streaming in the basement. Have not tried 4K but blu-Ray is gorgeous.

Some disc incompatibility issues, but regular firmware revisions have addressed this in addition to added streaming services. No UHD disc player is perfect. I own the Oppo 203 as well and it has had its share of growing pains. Generally though the Sony is light years ahead of the early blu-ray players and at $299.00 is a steal. Exemplary audio performance, as well. Many users with HDR problems can be traced back to cables that are not premium spec'd at 18gbps so ensure you are using certified 4K cables.

Way better remote than Samsung
