Good 4K player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over this does really well in playing DVDs, blu-ray and 4K discs. Our old player would freeze up on small scratches and this is able to bridge the gap. It integrates very well with our Sony TV as well. If your TV is smart you won’t really need all of the features this has but always nice to be able to connect to a non-smart TV. The only thing is it has had a few hiccups with turning on and off. After resetting the player and doing a firmware update it seems to be ok again.

Finally, Sony's New Ultra Blu-ray 4K Player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long after other manufacturers have put out 4K Players, Sony has finally delivered on it's own 4K HD Player. This is not an Upscale-ed player, but a true 4K HD output unit. While it is rather boxy and bland looking, it delivers a fast startup that not only plays 4K HD, but 3D Blu-rays and DVD's as well. I have this paired with a Sony's XBR-65930D. Of course the picture looks wonderful and I have been purchasing more 4K & 3D Blu-rays to my library to enjoy.

Has issues playing 4K HDR content
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DVD and regular blu-rays play with no issues. 4K, specially HDR movies, will freeze and skip sections every 5-15 minutes. Happens with multiple discs and on multiple TVs, even after a firmware update. Did a quick search and it seems this model is known for having similar problems. Now I understand why it’s so heavily discounted. Will be returning in the next day or two, once I have a chance.

4k Sony bluray
