The 800 has an extra HDMI that can do just the audio. Now I have 3-D with my new Optoma HD 142x projector and my Sony 7.1 sound amp. I didn't want to go with a new sound system because I have a couple other older components including a cassette player and turntable.

Should of went with samsung

However the modem on this is not the best. I have appletv, cable box, and a surround sound all connected to through the same modem and this sony is the only one that has lag. so i wouldn't really call it a "smart player". The picture and sound as a 4k player in itself are great. Just not happy with the modem.

We primarily use it for DVD/Blu-ray's and secondarily for streaming. No issues whatsoever. Owned a Samsung BD player in the same price range prior to this; I gotta say, I love my Sony version better. Roughly 10 minutes for setup and then smooth sailing afterwards.
