Great DVD player has so many options other than dvds.

Bought to replace and upgrade my system. Works great.

After owning this $300 player for less than two years, it suddenly won't power on any of its electronics. The eject button on the unit functions, but that's it. After a long online chat with Sony customer service, their answer was to give me the phone number of a repair company in New York. Sony has become a hit or miss company. Some great products and some with problems. The problem is they don't make good when they produce defective products even when you buy at the top of their food chain. I'm done with them.

Haven't used this a lot yet but so far it works well.

Sony never fails me. A great player for the price.

Purchased this after returning another brand. Sad to say, it had HDMI handshake issues and stability. Ended up with the ubp-x700 and it is a better bang for the buck. Sony needs to update software. Both units have hdmi stability issues.

It's overall a good player when it operates correctly. I've had mine since it originally came out and paid a decent amount of money for it. It's since then come down in price and hopefully they've worked out all the kinks.

A very good player for the money especially when you consider the 2 free UHD movies include via promo. Build quality is better than every other 4K player out there in the $300-400 range and only a small step below the Oppo 203 and Panasonic UB900. This player's build actually look and feels like something costing $300. I definitely cannot say the same in regards to the LG970 and Samsung K8500/9500 players. Those player just feel so light weight just doesn't have that quality feel to it. The 4K image quality produce from this player is top notch. Upscaling seems just a tad better from this player then the 970 and K8500 but who knows it could just be my eyes. This player plays pretty much almost all file types under the sun and supports Bluetooth. There are some bugs (like microblocking from Fox movies) and occasional lockup if you are trying to do a lot of things. But it's something that can be fixed by a future firmware. Overall a good player but I'm only giving it a 4/5 because it currently it isn't officially confirm to support Dolby Vision and possibly it never will. Plus the current app selection is so small. If Sony update it's support for DV and it is definitely a 5/5. Sony please add DV support for this player in the future!

Device works and plays movies. The interface is typical Sony and a bit clunky. Have to reboot it occasionally and once it lost network configuration to my WiFi and had to be setup again. Functional but not stellar.

Play back on 4k is great. WiFi is very slow. Online apps quit working, Video play back clips on on the top 1/3 of screen now and locks whole unit up after 5 min of playback.

I purchased this Blu-ray Player on June 17, 2017 and it has already stopped working. I had it shipped to the Sony Repair Center in Georgia and they stated that the part to repair this item will cost more than what I paid for the Blu-Ray Player. I feel as though I wasted my money due to the fact that I have 3 other DVD players around my house that cost half as much and still work perfectly fine. I wish I would have never taken the customer service representative’s recommendation, especially since I had another Blu-ray Player in mind when I purchased this one. In closing, I will be replacing this Blu-ray player with a Samsung one considering I have 3 Samsung TV’s in my house that work perfectly fine. Goodbye Sony!

This 4k Blu ray player was not bad the actual unit itself was Built very well...The only problem that I noticed after a firmware update the player froze up.

Has several apps and it's pretty user friendly. However, it will turn off for no reason. Very frustrating! It has freezes and if you have to unplug it to get it to restart.

Not completely satisfied with the picture quality of this player, the 4k movies look like blue ray quality, even after making necessary adjustments on the 4K TV. To make things worse the owners manual is not helpful at all.

Worked very nicely in the beginning. But now it doesn't play. Relatively the the smaller, inexpensive model (still functions), this unit did not last long.

I purchased this and it work great for the warranty period. After the warranty lapsed it started turning itself on and locking up. I contacted Sony after it locked up totally, we tribal shot it, then they told me it was out of warranty, so I could take it to a service center at my expense. I think if you pay $300 for a piece of equipment it should last more than 1 1/2 years. The web is full of people saying the same thing happened to theirs.

Went through two units with a lot of headaches. I hope they got their software issues worked out, because generally speaking... I love Sony products. Build quality was amazing, and the picture was stunning- when it worked. It's really a shame I went through two units before giving up and going with another brand. This is not typical Sony reliability. So, I won't give up on them and my Sony TV is beyond amazing.

Setup was easy. Menu is clear. One problem I need to resolve is sporadic black screen lasting several seconds when streaming Netflix. Not a Wifi problem since my TV does not have the same issues.

Bought this to go with my new 65” Sammy and after hooking it all up, this player would not open its door to allow me to place a disc. Returning it tomorrow and getting a Samsung 4K HDR DVD player.

Player freezes can’t turn off from remote. Need to unplug player. I don’t notice any picture quality difference from other Sony players that are not 4 k.
