Went to watch a movie this evening, and nothing. It had power, but nothing worked. Unpluged the unit. waited a short time, and plugged it back in. I could bring the settings up, but couldn't access anything.

When you pickup this unit, you will feel the build quality even before you get to know the system. Yes, this player weighs around 9 pounds. Things I like about Sony - UBP-X800 + Loading speed : 4K discs loading relatively faster compared to competition + Upscaling - Sony - UBP-X800 - Playing non 4K BRs handled very well. +Pretty fast WiFi connection + Bluetooth: Having bluetooth connection is a blessing when others' need privacy. You can watch movies and listen to it using your favorite BT headset. Things i don't like about Sony - UBP-X800 - None so far :) I will highly recommend Sony - UBP-X800 for those who looking to get a 4K HDR BR player.

It not only plays everything it also upscales every kind of disk as long as you set it up correctly. Old school music dvd's like Neil Young Musicares concert look amazing. Blu Ray disks like Armageddon look fantastic and the new 4K disks like Passengers, Deepwater Horizon, Sicario, etc are unbelievable. The sound quality for music, movies or music dvd's / blu-rays on my Martin Logan speakers is outstanding. I ran the HDMI out2 to my audio receiver and the video via HDMI out1 to my TV.There is one drawback unrelated to Sony. The Netflix app does not recognize this player as being 4K compatible so you can't stream Netflix 4k content. I've spoken with both Netflix and Sony and they assured me this will be rectified in the near future. No big deal.....I can stream the 4k content on my Sony TV for now.

Cable is good so it's the TV. Needing service on a 3 week old unit? A nightmare. Disgusted.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You Can't get any better than a Sony.The Picture and Sound Quality is superb,the Bluetooth connectivity with headphones is outstanding no questions asked...for $150 cant go wrong . for what it offers its worth every penny..i can promise you that any future 4k blu ray players wont be good as this one when they start to slim it down and make it less solid and durable..but i never experienced any issues with Sony Video products from their Tv's to blu players and with any of their Playstations...I do have a Xbox One S which supports 4k blu ray playback the playback quality is very good..the main reason i bought the x800 for is because of the full bluetooth capability which my xbox one s does not have...overall you will not be disappointed with This Model...the Loading time on 4k blu ray's takes slightly longer for whatever reason ...maybe improvements can be made with an future software update..Xbox One S loads 4k blu rays quickly than again its a computer so of course everything is going to be faster on it....You will love the X800
