I've been waiting for a player for my 4K tv and this is almost perfect. The picture looks great and the sound is great. I just wish there was an optical input.

This player is very good on picture quality. Not very fast on loading disk and not the best in user friendliness using the remote. I'm pleased with this player overall and it would be a great player for the majority of people.

This is an update for a much older Sony Blu-Ray player that has served me well. I love this new player but it is missing a few things. Dobly Vision is not on this machine. Rumor has that Sony will provide a firmware update. I hope so. There is no display information on the machine, Some may like that but, I do not. When playing music cd's, the screen stays fixed. It does not go out. I have an OLED and that is not a good thing. I am still waiting to play my Hi-res files on it and I will get back to you on that.

Right out of the box this player has meet my expectations. Everything I have played on it has been outstanding. The best is when you play a 4K Movie - The picture and colors are off the charts. If your on the fence about which 4K player to get I would look at this one. Sure you can buy more expensive 4k players but is the picture or sound going to be that much better ? I doubt it. Over the years my trust of the Sony brand has declined. I originally considered Sony to be an innovative manufacturer of premium quality consumer electronics. I have owned Sony portable music players, cameras, videocams, VCRs and television sets. My experience is that the company lost its innovative touch and its reputation for quality manufacturing towards the end of the 20th century. However, Sony has been punished by the market, and may be mending its ways. This media player is very good - great features and performance. The major attractions for me were high quality UHD video and audio, very good access to internet content, and separate outputs for video and audio, all at a reasonable price. I am very satisfied with everything about the unit, and the principal reason I selected it was the separation of optimized audio and video output. Setup is as simple or comprehensive as you want it to be - you can get it going without a lot of fuss, and then spend a very satisfying few months perfecting the setup. There are no cons that matter to me - and if you are buying new home theater gear, shortcomings in one device can be compensated with features on one of the others. What one device lacks, another one has - you just have to figure out how to route the content around the devices that lack a feature, and send it to one of the other devices in the right order. Highly recommend this player.

This 4K Blu Ray player is one of the better ones you will find. Premium quality, and the picture and sound is what you would expect from Sony. Great Product.

Fantastic video quality with 4K discs, regular blu-rays upscale very nicely. Regular dvds acceptable. Don't use the streaming features as I prefer my AppleTV. Currently using a ZVOX 670 for sound which is OK but this player has me thinking about a nicer sound system so I'm currently researching. I have had no bugs show up with this unit. Love the build quality, it just feels like a high end unit!

Superb playback quality and fast bluetooth streaming. This player has impressive build qualities and looks extremely well made at a competitive price point.

I took a chance from recommendations from people on AVS because my TV is only 1080P. It took my plasma TV to new levels. It now looks like the 4K in the showroom. It even upconverts my older sd dvds to new levels. I did own the Samsung 8500 blu ray and that is now for the bedroom TV. Very sturdy feeling and extra fast. Very happy with the service I received at BB Get one, you will not be sorry!

This is a copy of the same review i posted at Sony's web site. Best features and Performance Having just purchased a 4k UHD TV it was time to update the DVD player. I've always liked Sony's products. This player was on my short list and bonus SACD support. Played a few standard Blu Ray, up-converting is flawless, and a remastered to 4k original Blade runner , picture is just fabulous. Watching the Shape of Water in 4k was just spellbinding showing the artistry of this type film and mood, The build quality is much better then the plastic boxes most players come in. The unit itself is virtually silent. Also really like the fact this has 2 hdmi outputs. I have a Yamaha Aventage reciever which handles 4k but only up to 8 bit 4,4,4 60hz for video ( audio is full Atmos etc.) So with this Sony player HDMI2 goes to the receiver for audio, HDMI1 goes direct to the TV. The TV (not sony sorry I needed 40 inch tv) and the Sony Player handshaked immediately and at full 4.4.4 10bit etc. Having 2 separate HDMI insures the Audio is one path and the Video on the other getting the best from both. Wifi also works quite well. Bonus for me was Best Buy had this on sale for 229. In short just get this unit if you want best audio & video performance for your $

Upgraded from Samsung blue ray there is no comparison between the two. Loads fast extremely quite and upscales blue ray disc I'm pleased with this purchase

This 4K Blu-ray player is definitely a gamer changer. The view is like "Wow!". I love it so much I already started trying to watch all my movies over again

Excellent player that was definitely worth the wait. The build quality of this player is impressive and really sticks out to me as a big difference between this and other players. This was an excellent compliment to my new 4k tv and I am very happy with my experience so far. The small app selection on this player is surprising, but Im expecting a wider selection through updates in the future

This player takes movie watching to the next level. Blu-ray movies look so much better; 4Ks are incredible! Buying it at half-price is icing on the cake!

Just by weight this thing is built well and so far I've had no problems. Turned it on and connected it and has so far played all my 4k movies perfectly.
