I only paid $100 door buster price plus my points can’t beat it for a 4K player definitely a lot cheaper than Samsung go try it

I had been looking at this for a long time but jumped on it with the pre Black Friday sale. Works great with my Sony 4k HDR tv.

Purchased this to try 4k disc out in comparison to streaming UHD. The options it has for audio output could include optical, but at least there's a coaxial output for older legacy surround systems. It runs perfectly quiet during operation and loads discs quite quickly. Streaming 4k is nice, but the quality of a solid real 4k (some movies are 3.4k or less so research!) movie beats it by a lot. Compare the bitrate of disc vs streaming. Updates were problem free using ethernet. This was a good purchase

Bought this to use with a new 4ke projector and 135” HD 4K screen. We take it outside for football games and movie nights by the fire or in the pool. So we are setting it up and taking it down regularly weather permitting. Very user friendly. It connected quickly to my WiFi network and never loses that connection. My only complaint would be in the app dept. very basic. Wish it had more options there. But overall. Can’t complain. Works great.

Bought this on a doorbuster to compliment my new 65" Sony 4K TV! For the price, this is a great 4K player for anyone adopting/wanting to get into 4K Blu-ray now. Sure, I would have loved to get the Oppo 203 or the Panasonic 900 but it just wasn't worth it to pay 3X or 4X the price of the Sony! Maybe I'll upgrade in a year or two when new models come out and the prices drop/stabilize. If so, for the price, this one can go to another room. Only complaint, and this applies to LG's and Samsung's 4K player offerings as well, is the lack of an on-screen display/counter on the unit itself. The manufacturer's probably saved $0.20 tops to eliminate it - disappointing.

Matched with the Sony Z9, the 4K is crazy detailed pictures, I really think the 3D is more engaging than ever. Just watched Predator, the one from !987, in 3D, absolutely stunning. What a shame 3D is going away??? I had a Panasonic Blu-ray, replaced it with this Sony huge difference. Love Magnolia as well. JC

I bought this exclusively to upscale some of my dvd movies I have at home and the results are as close as 4k picture quality. You can stream netflix, youtube and you can even mirror from your samsung phone into the player. Setup was a breeze, you'll just have to get high quality 4k cables or hdmi cables depending on what you have.

Wanted 4k dvd player ... have Sony TV and Sony Receiver ... so wanted matching brand ... specs are good ... Excellent Picture

I bought this model to match the features of my tv. It is a sturdy quiet unit. We have noticed an improvement in the picture.

I really like Sony as a brand so I decided to go with this bluray player. The image looks good, the interface is snappy and fast, and I love the controller. The controller is comfortable and the buttons don't make a loud sound when you click them. I was disappointed though because apps woud often close on this player. I also was frustrated in that there was no app store to download more apps. I was surprised because lesser bluray players have hundreds of apps while there may have been 20 preloaded apps on this player. In particular I was looking for Google Play Movies. I was surprised it was not on here since Sony 4K TVs run on Android TV and have Google Play on them. I ended up switching to the Samsung because of the glitching I had with the Sony and was extremely surprised to find that the Samsung UBD-M500 actually has Google Play Movies. Not just that but the app is pre-installed on the player and there is a full app store to download more apps. The interface is much nicer and multitasking on the Samsung is easier too. I'd say if you are in the market for a new player you may want to either wait for Sony to make a player that runs Android TV on it or at least fix some of the bugs with their player or give the Samsung UBD-M8500 a shot.

Overall a solid 4K DVD player. Well built and does exact what it’s suppose to do. Works perfectly when paired with a Sony TV.

Now this is a great 4k/bluray player. The perfect plug -n- play player for anyone with a 4k Ultra TV. Easy to install/setup!

Sony really has produced a great product! The picture is incredible and the movies boot up very quickly. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality Blu-Ray player; haven't had any issues with it. It has smart capabilities to stream Netflix and stuff like that, but I use my smart TV for that. A++ would recommend.

Great picture! I love the brightness and clarity of the picture. Along with the color and sound you get a cinema experience.

Love this player. Fast and easy to use. Only downside is no front facing display that shows a timer etc but i dont care much

I bought this to utilize my television's HDR capabilities and it provides a remarkable picture when playing Ultra HD discs. The player was simple to setup, but the picture was unimpressive until I calibrated my television properly. It has a nice solid feel to it and a simple but functional remote that can control a television.

No issues - with the second unit - first was defective. Returned it to the store and got a replacement on the spot. Player is very good. Quality is super sharp. Remote is a bit wimpy.

Great product that does exactly what I wanted it to and was very easy to setup and operate. Expect it to last for sometime.

Had to replace a 3D Blu-Ray player. Wanted to get a 4K that also played 3D's. This Sony hit the mark. Very easy to setup, just make sure you buy the HDMI cables suitable for 4K/3D playback. Picture quality was beyond my expectations even without a 4K television. I would definitely recommend this player.
