This player is really all-inclusive. My main disc player was a PS4, which doesn't play CDs or 4K Ultra Discs. Not only does it play them, this will even play SACDs. Very thin and easy to operate.

I purchased this Sony 4k player, a week after I bought a 65' Sony x900 tv, and this 4k player made a huge difference. The 4k movies look GREAT.

I did much research on this before I bought. Aside from the excellent picture quality, what put it over the top was the audio options. Very pleased with ease of use, picture quality, and audio so far.

It's been over 6 months and still works perfectly. I love the picture quality in 4k movies and the sound is great with surround system as well. The amazon prime and netflix gives me additional value. This was great choice for my Sony 4k TV.

i couldnt decide between the samsung 9500 and this one, the salesman was very helpful in deciding. the picture is amazing, i only wish the menu was sexier but its no biggie...great 4k, great sound!

It was time for an upgrade, and so I went out and purchased another Sony Blu-ray player knowing what I was getting myself into before I purchased it. My prior Blu-ray player only had 4K streaming and was not able to play 4K movies. Now, I have a very nice Sony Blu-ray player that plays all of my movies.

Great player. Very quick using blu-ray and 4K discs. Apps are slow and sometimes clumsy.

If you're looking to add to your mancave a great 4K DVD player? this is the route to go! no issues no complaints and super easy to use and worth the price. Highly recommend

ONCE AGAIN I JUST LOVE SONY... THE QUALITY IS THE BEST.. THIS DVD BLUE RAY PLAYER IS VERY EASY TO OPERATE AND THE QUALITY FOR ME IS THE BEST....

So far, this is living up to what I expected. The 3D and UHD both look very good. It's nice that it has a few rare audio options, but haven't actually tried it yet. Partially got because it was supposedly going to have a firmware update that would give it Dolby Vision, but still waiting. That's not unusual, though, because there's lots of hardware promising the same thing, but it hasn't happened yet.

I was really impressed with this 4K DVD player, not only because of the resolution I was getting on my TV, but how easy and fast it is to jump scenes in movies. It is a little big, but stylish.

This player was extremely easy to set up and very easy to use. I was able to pair it with my TV automatically. No digging for specific code numbers. Picture quality and ease of use are positives.

I have two 4k televisions and have a Samsung 4K UHD player. I decided to add a UHD player in my bedroom. I thought about purchasing another 2015 model exactly like I have. I also thought about purchasing the new 2017 Samsung model but it lacked one feature that I needed, 3D. The Sony plays 3D discs as well as doing a great job of 4K streaming. The picture quality has also improved and the response time of the player is defiantly better. The colors are more vibrant and the overall picture quality is smoother. There are two HDMI outputs just in case you do not have a new receiver capable of passing UHD. I decided to use this in my main room and move the older player to my bedroom.

Just upgraded to this player and couldn't be happier. The front panel is pretty plain so you have to rely on the on-screen menu but otherwise a high quality player ready to compete with Samsung

I just received my new Sony 4K player after hearing about it being launched at CES. I am super impressed with this player and its build quality. It's pretty solid and it paired nicely with my Sony 4K tv. The picture quality is absolutely amazing and the audio quality is simply stunning! It's definitely the best 4K player on the market. Awesome product!

I paid half price for this player! I wasn't supposed to receive it until a week after receiving my OLED TV, but Best Buy managed to deliver it on the very same day (to my delight)! The first movie we watched was "Wonder Woman" in 4K Ultra HD. It was just like being in the theater! Truly AWESOME!!!

First and foremost I'm a Sony guy, so adding this 4K player to my setup was a no brainer. It's very heavy, which you'll find not all players are. Does this mean it's of better quality, maybe, or maybe not. Overall I'm very happy and the picture is awesome. Can't go wrong with this player.

Before I speak to the overwhelming good features and the reason I've kept this unit, I need to convey a few things you should know immediately before you buy this player: 1.) SONY is not, will not, and will never add Dolby Vision to the UBP-X800 [pursue the UBP-X700 if you want a SONY alternative in this price range]. 2.) However commonplace freezing issues are, at some point with one of your 4K Blu-rays...THIS PLAYER WILL FREEZE UP ON YOU. [No firmware update as of 8-10-18 has fixed this issue.] 3.) Dolby ATMOS will never happen on your Audio Video Receiver until you visit this player's menu and turn OFF "BD Audio Mix Setting". For whatever reason, SONY's default is to leave this ON. So on to why I kept this player. 1.) Luckily (or not) my Sony 900E series TV isn't getting Dolby Vision either - would be a shame to split up to very popular Sony products that should have gotten DV's update and will never have it. Like a marriage made in Heaven - a sarcastic Heaven. 2.) 4K Blu-ray discs and standard Blu-ray discs look incredible. All the work I did in calibrating my TV really shines. I've tried a few DVDs and they look the best they ever have as well (previously had a Pioneer BDP 23FD Blu-ray player and I know this model is outperforming that for standard Blu-ray and DVD). 3.) Load times. What load times? This player gets to the movie in a flash! 4.) Noise level. Um...there is no noise. I think streaming is louder than the actual disc spinning in this unit. So quiet you can hear the button presses on the remote as you press eject to see if a disc is really in the player - very quite/very nice. 5.) Hi Res Audio. If you have super-human-bat-hearing like me and can appreciate higher frequencies than anyone else on the planet, good news, this player will let you do it. I've also been able to break out some of my old SACD discs and enjoy DSD playback. 24/192 FLAC files from the USB drive are awesome! 6.) The Apps are quick to load. Even faster than my Sony TV. 7.) Pricing is more than competitive for the features, build quality, etc. I paid $158.00 the end of July 2018.
