Great Blu-ray player at a great price, just what I was looking for.

Works well enough as a 4K player. Just wish it was nicer to look at.

This model has the best price/performance/feature set. The UBP-X1000ES is only better in the 2-channel analog audio. Picture quality is almost identical.

This new product is loaded with the latest technology and syncs very nicely with my Sony 4K Tv. Easy set up and is great for streaming videos from Netflix and Amazon.

I've waited for prices to go down on a 4K Blu-ray and they finally got to $150 (black Friday price) for this Sony. Having said that, I haven't sprung for any 4k dvd's yet, so I can't address that, but 4k up-scaling is fantastic on my LG 60" that I bought last year.

We had the Geek squad install the unit. Very clear and bright picture. Very glad we got the 4K HD. Very different than the old unit.

Thought the picture of a 4K movie playing on a 4K blu ray player would look a lot better on a 4K television but it looks almost the same as a regular blu ray movie. But, since we bought the player on sale for only $150, we’ll keep it. The only reason why I give it 4 stars is because it already locked up on us twice and we had to to unplug it to reset it.

It was recommended I replace my old Sony Blu Ray DVD Player with a new Sony brand. That way, I would not have to reprogram my Universal Remote Control. True enough. It was a little tricky to understand how to hook it up, since I have two receivers and one of them has only older technology audio hook up options. Wish this new DVD player allowed for that.

i bought this player base on the 3D function.... 4K is a plus....

I am not sure exactly what generation of 4K UHD Blu-ray player this is, but it loads your disk quickly. I know there are many out there that may be slower. And if you are like me and do not like to play movies through a video game console, this is a good option.

I read several reviews on 4K UHD HDR Bluray players before selecting this Sony UBP-X800. Each player had good/bad reviews, but the Sony had consistently higher ratings. Now I know why. This unit plays 4K UHD Bluray movies with HDR and ATMOS much better than I ever anticipated. The picture and sound quality from this unit are excellent! Sony has added many streaming services, and continues to improve the services offered. If you have a 4K TV or Projector, and have an AVR that can decode ATMOS, this unit will provide and exceptional experience. Even just 4K is awesome. I highly recommend this Sony!!!

I love the Sony 4k dvd player. fast start up great picture quality. The upscaling on older dvds is good also. Very heavy and well built dvd player.

Of course I would love to have the upgrade to the next level Sony blueray player or the Oppo player, but those weren't in my price range. This blueray player is ABSOLUTELY amazing. I was told to push your tv to the max, watch Planet Earth II in 4K. That of course was the first show I watched and it was GORGEOUS. There wasn't any jitter, posterization, color banding absolutely nothing. It was clean and clear 4K. I feel like some credit should be put toward my 65X930D or to my Audio Quest Cinnemon cables, but for the blueray player itsself it's amazing and worth every penny. This player is the Best. Buy.

This player powers on quickly and loads the discs fast. The picture and sound are excellent. I took away one star because the "smart" features have some annoying lag and their navigation is not on par with other smart devices like Roku. If you want a great Blu-ray player get this, if you need it for streaming apps and such you might look elsewhere.

Sets up easy....great picture. No display on front of player though. Netflix does not recognize this as a 4K device so the 4K Line up does not show up on Netflix.

Though I have not had it long it seems like a solid performer. I have not used the 4K abilities as the tv that is paired with it in not. However, the image does look improved over our previous player, particularly with streaming. I did have one glitch but support provided the correct solution, the box thought it could not get online to the various streaming apps. A simple factory reset corrected it. However, it did mean that all my app credentials had to be re-entered. Only time will tell if this is s true winner but other than the one glitch I am quit satisfied.

BluRay player setup was easy and picture quality is excellent.

Works as advertised, no issues. Beautiful picture on new OLED.
