||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Our first 4K player. Really good, plays with no problem. 4K is the upgrade from blu-ray. Not sure about the older movies being released on 4K, but the new ones look amazing. Got 2 free movies with it. The only disappointment (but not much of one) is the streaming (Netflix) was better on our 4K ROKU, but the difference was minimal and you would not be able to tell unless you compare the same scenes and look really hard.

Works Fine Most of the Time

We had some issues with it freezing when we first bought it. The only way to resolve the problem was to unplug it then plug it back in. It happened about once a month after we bought it. There have been a few firmware updates since then and I can't remember having the problem since the last update so maybe Sony has fixed the problem. If you buy one, make sure you run the firmware updates (good advice for all similar products).

I have it running via a HDMI cable into Denon amp with 4K capability, then to a LG OLED TV; the picture and the sound are fantastic! I only had 1 DVD freeze while playing; it turned out the DVD had fingerprints, etc on it (new). Very pleased with this player; time will tell how it holds up
