Love it to death it. Plays all my discs CDs, DVDs, and obviously Blu-rays. My bf tells me the images are beautiful and the sound quality is amazing and I have to agree there's definitely a difference between the old Blu-ray player and this one. Simply incredible. Really a great device and I got lucky and bought it on sale. Recommended it to a friend and she went out and got one too.

Easy setup. Upscalling is excellent. Does not come with a video cable.

This unit would intermittently freeze playing DVDs, Blu-rays, or 4k discs. The only way to recover the unit was to unplug it and plug it back in. Occurrences kept getting more frequent until it was almost every movie. After 3 calls to Sony customer support, I paid $25 to ship it back and they sent me a new unit. We only had the new unit a week and on the 2nd disc we tried to watch, the same thing happened. Best Buy would not let me exchange it for a different unit or return it, and I did not want to spend another $25 to get a 3rd unit from Sony, which would likely have the same problem (many people have reported this issue here and on other forums, I wish I did this research before wasting my money!), so I asked the clerk at Best Buy if they could recycle the unit for us. Luckily they agreed to do that, so I don't have to find a way to dispose of the unit, since you can't put electronics in a garbage can.

I got this to go with our new Sony 4K tv, and I couldn't be happier it. If you have a 4K tv, you have to get this, the clarity and color are unclear. My eyes are the only limitating factor for how good this setup works. ***If you really want to make your home system to "shout" amazing get the htnt5 soundbar!

I upgraded from a samsung and the streaming is much faster. I bought in anticipation of a new TV so I cannot comment on the benefit of 4K. So far so good

The Sony - UBP-X800 plays basically any and every disc you would want to play to include CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and SACD. This player will even play PAL video.

The picture quality on 3D movies is amazing using this player. I only have a few 4K movies for now and the picture is just as great. It also improved the sound quality from my surround sound system. My daughter noticed it as well. I would highly recommend this player! I had held out buying a 4K player due to other negative reviews on other players and I’m glad I waited.

The picture quality is outstanding. And it’s very easy to use.

I bought the SONY UBP-X800 to connect to a 65" SONY 4K television. After DVDs gave way to Blu-ray I thought that video images couldn't get much better. But boy was I wrong. The image is sharper, brighter, and the colors are denser. The first film I watched on it was Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It looked so good that it was like having Rocket Raccoon in the room with me.

I am a slow adapter when it comes to investing in 4k technology. I purchased the Sony UHD X800 player to watch movies on my 1080p tv. The picture and sound quality from this player was noticeable immediately. This replaced an older Sony BDP 6700. The build is much better. It actually has some hefty weight. No problems with wifi setup. Time will tell. So far, I am very impressed.

Great 4 K player upscales regular blue ray disk great everything is so clear

I have this connected to my LG 52" 4K TV and Yamaha receiver. It produces great 4K video, and the 3D works well when used. I have the HDMI connected directly to my TV and use the second HDMI out to go to my Yamaha receiver for compatibility with my older receiver (I did have to adjust the settings to use the second HDMI for audio for my receiver). Very pleased with the results.

Purchased with new TV as part of Black Friday deal...DVDs look amazing...start up time is a little slow, but not as bad as other DVD players we've had.

Great Black Friday deal at Best Buy. We’ve watched a couple of 4K movies through our Samsung 8XXX series 4K TV, and we are very pleased. Only 4 stars as we’ve not watched a standard Blu-ray to see how upscaling works.

Great player, will upscale any DVD. Movies will look great on this player; even Blu-Ray movies look like 4K
