The affordable Sony UBP-X800 4K UHD Wi-fi Blu-ray Player comes loaded with streaming apps including Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, and Amazon Instant Video. The player supports CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray and Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray discs, and Super Audio CDs. The Sony UBP-X800 does not have "Dolby Vision." If you happen to own a newer Samsung 4K TV, you won't miss this feature because Samsung does not utilize Dolby Vision, opting for open source HDR 10 and HDR 10+ comparability. The Sony UBP-X800 is HDR 10 compatible. If you want Dolby Vision, you must step up to the newer Sony UBP-X800 M2. The picture performance is great with Ultra HD discs, such as the Best Buy exclusive 4K disk, "Pandas." The player produces brilliant UHD resolution, that can at times look three dimensional on a 4K capable TV. The player also does an excellent job at up-converting blu-ray discs to 4K, and even does an excellent job at up-converting standard DVDs to 4K like appearance, which are shown in the standard definition, square picture format. The Sony UBP-X800 4K UHD Wi-fi Blu-ray Player is an excellent and sturdily built, 4K UHD player, at an affordable price.

I wanted a good 4K blue-ray player but its alot bigger than i expected but it seems solid.

This 4K player feels solid and substantial. It's simple to use, yet has plenty of advanced features to play around with. The price point is a no-brainer. I'm a big fan of Sony products (still using a DVD player I bought in 1998 because it just works right). Now, if I can only get Redbox to start renting 4K movies in my area then I'm set!

Was hesitant to upgrade to a 4K dvd player (vs. an upscaling 4K dvd player) -- I wondered if it really would make that much of a difference. It does! -- especially if you pair it with the a quality receiver and speakers. This unit is much more stable than Sony's 4K upscaling dvd player (that unit had to constantly be reset). Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Crystal clear images, easy setup, simple remote. No fuss, no muss.

Bought this to replace an old DVD player and to go along with a new LG OLED 55". It feels a bit slow to load, but once it gets going, picture is outstanding. I wish the remote had a number pad so I can skip directly to a specific time mark when I need to stop a BD/DVD. However, the fast forward and chapter skip works, but a little more effort than a number pad.
