I don't have a 4k tv, I bought it for it ability to play every audio disk made. It will also play FLAC and DSD files from a thumb drive. It handles hi-res audio files without a hitch. As a bluray player it works great. Video and audio streaming works incredibly well. I got it on sale on Xmas eve, but I would pay full price if I had to. Worth every penny.

This 4K Blu-Ray player has the most uncluttered readout that I have ever seen, just a green power dot that shows that it is on. That's it, no other display what so ever. I think Sony has gone too minimalist on the display readout, there isn't one. I guess that is the new style, but I like to see some lights lit up, lol. It does play disk ok, so I guess that's the main thing.

I have been looking forward to this purchase and was not disappointed. The set up was easy and the picture quality is amazing! I am waiting to purchase a 4K TV but wanted to watch Planet Earth 2 so I purchased the Ultra 4K version. Even on my 1080p HDTV, the picture quality is Stunning! There are two outputs - 1 HDMI and 1 HDMI 4K. Buy instead of a regular Blu-Ray!

I bought this to go with my 4K TV. It was really easy to hook up with my receiver and TV. Very easy to use, and picture quality is awesome.

What a great DVD player! Works perfect and due to waiting for a sale. Very good value at purchased price. Excellent and clear bright picture. Wi-fi works great better than l expected. It has a Netflix button on the remote that is much faster to use. Works exactly as described and can see big difference from my old blu ray and This one. Highly recommend!

This Sony - UBP-X800 Adds to the TVs picture quality and easy to use.

I now own four of these players as they have closed captioning function. My older DVDs have closed captions vs The new SDH subtitles. The player also enhances regular Dvd picture quality so I don’t have to always get blu ray discs. The electronic base of this player is mounted on metal inside vs plastic so it’s much more sturdy.

When I purchased my new TV, I had not yet decided whether to buy a new DVD player. When one of the guys who delivered the TV looked at my old DVD player, he recommended replacing my 15-year old model with a new DVD/Blu-Ray player. After reading consumer reviews, I decided to get the Sony UBP X-800. It has lived up to its reviews, is lightweight and easy to operate, and was easy to set up. In short, it is a perfect match for the Sony 65" 4K HD TV.

I haven’t had any issues. I prefer the Sony brand and I’ve never had an issue before. I will say it is heavier than most Blu-ray players.

I don’t use all the “bells and whistles” on my Sony 4K so this was easy for a senior citizen. Plug it in turn it on and I was good to go.

my old blu ray sony ...original when they came out... was so slow to open and close ...this one is super quick and thats why i bought it

I couldn't be happier with this player. It plays any disc I throw at it with superb quality and silence. Much better than my old player.

This unit has been dead reliable. It plays 4K Blu-ray disks, along with pretty much all other Blu-ray and DVD formats. So far, so good!

If you are looking for a 4K player with plenty of options then this is the one you are looking for. Plenty of functions to choose from.
