The menu is basic and the apps don't get updated much but in todays world, if you have a 4k TV you're using the TV for streaming, not this player. It handles every disk I've put into it and that's all I really expect it to do. 4k disks look so much better than streaming 4k it's not even comparable. I hope they never go away.

I have it connected to my Sony 85 inch Bravia 4K HDR and it's truly a home theater experience. My only complaint is sometimes the eject button doesn't seem to work and I have to power cycle the unit. Other than that I love it.

Found my media server without me telling it oto. Image quality is fantastic. While the upgrade is fair, the Blu-ray to 4k is absolutely great. Dual HDMI outputs allow me to stream video directly to the TV while the audio plays really well on my receiver.

With the limited number of 4k discs out there and the price of the player, I would wait a bit. This is priced the same as when the first blu-ray players came out. Now you can buy blu-ray players for $50. As far as the difference in clarity, it's definitely noticeable if you are a video/movie enthusiast. Otherwise, not a big deal for a normal fellow. I had a visitor and didn't care much for the difference. He didn't even say "wow, you have 4k".
