Easy to use. Excellent audio and video output. Nice and compact player

Got this player to upgrade from my previous Sony blu-ray only. Was looking forward to the improved Ultra HD visuals and faster loading speed. This great little player delivers! Plus, has Dolby Vision to match my Sony OLED TV. There is a very obscure picture menu you have to access during playback to turn off the default motion blurring. Only found it by accident and then read another reviewer having similar issues with it. Hope this one lasts as long as my previous Sony player!

Just got a new projector and my old Sony (though not terribly old) wasn't able to switch 4K sources, so time to update. I didn't want to spend a lot and this model suited my needs and my budget. The price was right and the features did what I need for theater. It would have been a 5 star, but the sound I can get out of the receiver is less than stellar for music, so for theater it's fine, but it isn't a 'do-everything' receiver. I'm happy that it was in stock and I was wanting to get my home theater going quickly.

Exchanged the 800 model to this model. Honestly, this is much better. The picture qualities are exactly the same. The size of this is literally half the size of the 800. And honestly, I cannot tell you why the bigger one is bigger. Supposedly the chassis helps support a quieter disc playback??? I haven't noticed a difference in the two. The image is great and it just doesn't have 3D, which is fine for me because I only have regular 3D Blu Ray discs that can be played on my PlayStation and Xbox.

This player is inexpensive has really good upscaling play true 4K and gives me Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos love it!

I really love the dual hdmi outs. 1 gor video and 1 for audio. I can now have a raw feed straight to my tv without having to use a splitter. My audio goes to my receiver. The Dolby Vision feature is awesome, but you have to turn dolby vision off if you don't want to use it on non dolby vision content. I was hoping to be able to download apps to the player. You are not able to download extra apps to player. Other than that, plays my 4k movies with almost no problems. Forums say, if a 4K movie is freezing or jumping, turn off the upscale feature in settings.

I absolutely love this Blu-ray player. I have used other brand ultra HD players and this Sony is by far the best all-around as far as picture and sound quality, while also veing much more user friendly along with more user adjustable settings than other players in the same price range. This is perfect for somebody that wants the best out there without breaking the bank.

This player works very well and has all the bells and whistles that anyone other than the most demanding viewer could want. To get the most advanced features, which most people would never use, you'd have to spend several hundred dollars more. Amazing picture, fantastic sound, streams from most of the major services. Easy to connect.

To preface this, I went with the whole in-home theater system here so I sort of packaged it all together. Started with the tv and then chose a blu ray player of that. I was suggested this by an associate as it was the most cost effective, gave you dolby vision and dolby atmos. Basically everything you need and then some. The player is crisp on movies and has a sweet design. Not much else to say about it, I'd definitely recommend it to pair with a new Sony tv.

This unit is small enough for the closet yet powerful enough to display and perfect picture. Works best with 4K.

When I bought it I didn't even realize how much more I get comparing to what I was looking for! I still have not explored all the additional functions that it offers - but one thing is clear: it is very easy to set up and operate, and it provides excellent viewing quality. Even the old DVDs show much better than they did on my older devices. And all of that with a very reasonable price!

This does what's expected of it, plays DVD, Blu-ray and 4k movies without a hitch. The ability to log into Amazon TV, Pandora, Hulu and whatnot is just icing on the cake. I've got it hooked up to a powerline link to the cable router at the moment, and it works like a charm. Much faster response and lots times than the cable box, which is weird. Even the wireless connection was faster. Overall, highly recommend.

Great 4k , easy on the wallet, easy operation, one draw back is the power light is very hard to see.

Has locked up a few times on me during a movie and is certainly not built like a tank. It is as basic as can be. It has an aging UI that only a mother could love. That said, it is one of the cheaper models that support dolby vision (unlike my samsung that it replaced). Unfortunately, discs are dying to streaming. I personally think the streaming picture quality is good enough but the audio difference between disc and streaming is marked - disc is so much better.

I upgraded an existing Sony DVD that was still performing exceptionally with this new 4K DVD player. I am extremely please with the enhanced video that this 4K DVD player offers. Size was a consideration as the space in my A/V cabinet was limited. This unit suited nicely. 4K DVD’s look great and are worth the increased price to buy 4K DVD’s. I only wish more 4K DVD content was available to purchase and to rent via redbox.
