This DVD player provides excellent picture on both DVD's and Bluray disks. It also has easy to use controls and the remote can be setup to control our TV functions. Big win. Currently using the HDMI port for connection our tv, so the setup was a breeze and the menu system is easy to use. Excellent upgrade to our movie experience!

This blu ray player @ this price point is amazing to me I now have 2, after reading review's on several models & name brands. They are very small & light weigh, it seems to function correctly out of the box updated itself, & looks very good. Detail is very good from my view point, sound is very good, running dolby atom, and other surround settings. Did buy another brand returned for the Sony's.

Bought this Sony streaming 4K Blu-ray player when I upgraded my basement TV to 4K ; Picture is very sharp and crisp ; colors very well defined ! what else can I say , It's a Sony . I have had a lot of Sony products before and they never failed me. And I forgot to say , that this player also has Wifi built in, so less cable clutter.

Very nice 4K DVD player. Easy to set up and navigate. Only down side which I find this a lot today is no display on the front so you don't know how much has played or paused or how much to go. Fix this please. The system upgrades Blu-Ray to 4K as promised and with my Vizio M Series 4K TV everything is perfect. I will purchase athis unit again when mine finally dies, we used it a lot.

I recommend this Blu-ray player. 4k movies look sharp and the price is reasonable. The remote is small and compact, and the player has the Dolby Vision playback feature in the settings menu. Toggle on/off or play in HDR 10. There is no HDR 10+, but DV will do. Your TV must also have the Dolby Vision feature. Great buy!

My old Sony blu-ray player went on the fritz. After reading reviews, I decided to replace it with this model. So far, we really like it. It plays in such great quality, and it's easy to navigate. It may be a bit more expensive than some other brands, but it's one of those "you get what you pay for" kind of things.

I played many HD blu ray discs and the player upscales it to 4k nicely. I have a LG 65 inch nano 8 series, and works well. Downside is it doesn't always remember to play back at the point you stopped blu ray or after long paused, which can be annoying. the internet setup is good, I used wired connection. I haven't used the the Smart features as much, my LG 65 nano 8 series has all of them. The smart features would be good if you have a lesser equipped TV.

I needed to replace my Blu-Ray players, and this is doing a great job. All my discs looks sharp, not matter what their original quality, so it is upscaling well. Obviously, my 4K discs look the best. I do wish it had a few more streaming apps, but with my new Smart TV, that is no longer an issue.

I've been trying to decide on a Blu-Ray for months. Finally settled on this one at a reasonalbe price and 4K. Hooked it with my Visio non-4k with no problem. I plan on integrating with my sound system soon. Wanted to try it while I still had time to return if problems. I choose the 700 vs 800 due to review comments and lack of enough reviews. Next I'll be looking for a 4K TV.

This is a great 4k player for the money. I recently bought a Sony 4k tv and wanted the matching 4k player. This player is easy to use and provides amazing picture quality. I didnt think it would be much of a difference from Blue Ray but it is! My wife and I are noticing all kinds of stuff we never saw before 4k. It also does a good job upscaling Blue Rays.

There are a lot of 4K UHD Blu-ray players to choose from. But if you are looking for a quality player that supports both Dolby Vision and Atmos, this is one of the best options for the money! I have two of these players now, and they have been the most reliable players with the best picture and audio quality I have ever owned!

good quality and picture, easy set up and connection with existing sony television, took a little to set up with rti remote and yamaha receiver but in the end came out nice. Picture quality is very good with 4k Television which was a sony xbr900H. we used the curb side pick up for the first time and was real easy at best buy, called when we arrived and they were out with equipment in less then 5 minutes.

This is one of the least expensive 4K UHD Blu Ray players, but it produces an excellent picture and has plenty of features. 4K UHD is yet another format, and the discs are more expensive than DVD and regular Blu Ray, but the picture quality is on another level. The remote control is rather basic, but once you press "Play" that's about all you do with a remote. No problems with my Denon AVR X3500H receiver decoding the various audio tracks including Dolby Atmos via the HDMI connection. For those who need an interface to the popular streaming services and don't have a smart TV, this player will connect your TV to the internet, but that's really a bonus as there are less expensive ways to access streaming services. Buy it for the UHD Blu Ray capability. No reason to spend more money on players with more features. The picture quality won't be any better.

The player has quick start up and has a fantastic pic on my 4k projector. Reasonably priced and easy to incorporate into my system. So far no HDMI handshake issues with any of my equipment in the chain. It does a great job with standard Blu Rays and dvd's, they look and sound great. If your looking for a UHD player in the $200 or less category this would be a good choice. Tom C.

I went through a few 4K players before I tried this one. This one was the only one that worked right. The others failed me. I was starting to regret stepping up to the complete 4K system. This one changed my mind and after I hooked it up everything just worked right. It confirmed my choice to upgrade my whole system. Love it and how my system is complete now.

The existing BluRay Player in my living room bit the dust. After a little research I decided to purchase this Sony UBP-X700. It's very easy to install and set up. I have yet to utilize any streaming services over it. So far so good with the easy of playing a DVD or BluRay disc and the clarity of the picture. I would definitely recommend this BluRay player to others.

This blu-ray player is great for the price. I haven't had any trouble playing 4k blu-rays. The secondary HDMI port for audio is good, but I wish they had also added an audio optical out port on the back of the player for maximal compatibility. My soundbar only has an HDMI arc input and didn't work with the secondary HDMI audio port of the player. You would essentially need an audio receiver or a soundbar with HDMI passthrough in order to take advantage of the secondary HDMI audio port. I also wish the player could convert DTS-HD MA audio to Dolby Digital 5.1 on the fly. I currently only get DD 5.1 passthrough through my TV to my sound bar (ARC) if the main audio track of the blu-ray is an atmos track. If the main track is DTS-HD MA (as most blu-rays are) I only get PCM stereo passthrough through my TV which means I'm getting simulated surround sound from my soundbar. In general, relying on passthrough using ARC from your player to your TV to your sound setup for audio is a bad idea since it is either compressed 5.1 or stereo PCM. So if your surround sound system only has an HDMI ARC input or optical audio port, I would suggest getting another blu-ray player that has a built-in optical audio out port. If you have a higher-end sound system with HDMI-in and HDMI-out for content passthrough, you will be able to utilize the player's secondary HDMI audio port and have no problems getting uncompressed surround sound.
