As a Blueray player it works good.

Both are Sony units but I can't get clear sounds, ends up with intermittend sound. I have bought new cables, which are not included with the unit. Techs I talked with think it could be HDMI cables or plug. I am taking the second unit back to Best Buys. It could be my surround sound system but it works fine until I plug it into the new Blueray unit. May be incompatable with my sound system, which is more expensive than the Blueray player. So I will return it.

Improved speed and picture

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I basically upgraded from a 4-year-old Sony Blu-ray player that was having more and more frequent lock-ups that required the power be disconnected/reset. I decided to stay with Sony so that I didn't have to re-program my universal remote! Anyway, This model initializes and is ready much faster and seems to have a better image quality than the older unit (possibly because of some HDR features built-in). I don't have a 4K TV so I can't comment on that but the HD (1080P) image is noticeably better.
