I recently bought a 4K TV and now I need a 4K player to enjoy the 4K experience. First I have to say when I hooked up the player to my TV and turned it on, the TV screen was black, no image of any kind. It did not open the start up screen. I put a 4k blue ray in and it played, but why didn't the start up screen show up? I mean without the start up screen how are you going to adjust anything if you can't see what you need to see. I then disconnect it from my receiver, where I have all my units connected to, and hooked it up directly to my other tv. It showed the start up screen, so now I was puzzled a bit. After doing some reading on the Net, I finally figured it out. I have a Denon receiver that's only 3 years old, but here is the kicker. It is made for only 1080p resolution. In order for my player to work properly I need a receiver that is 4K compatible. So if you run your units through your receiver, and it is not 4K compatible, you might have the same problem as I have. The only problem for me that I don't like about the player is that there is NO digital reading of any kind on the unit when turned on. It's not a deal breaker, but I am used to seeing a counter on the front. So to enjoy the movies thru my speakers in surround sound, I have to buy a 4K compatible receiver. All in all the player does its job in playing 4K movies nicely.

Plays 4K, BD, and DVD well. Spin-up and start times are pretty quick. The menu is much improved from Sony BD players of old. Streaming abilities work well too. However, once in awhile the player won't see a disc after it inserts and spins up. Reloading usually works. Doesn't happen often, and firmware is up to date. Otherwise no problems.

as a casual fan of watching movies, this player meets my demands—which are simply that i want good picture, a machine that doesn't make too much noise while the movie is playing, and easy features to set-up. this is the third blu-ray player i've owned over the years, and it serves me well.

Works very good with my Sony TV. Has excellent picture quality. Also has many apps that are included. Easy hook up and nice streamlined look. I am very well satisfied with my purchase. Also excellent price

A nice plain, simple 4K DVD player. Wow, what a difference the 4K DVDs...and even the upscaling of normal Blue Ray and DVD discs. Works just like it should...and (although I don't need it)...has a lot of options for streaming service apps.

After reading reviews for this Sony Blu-Ray player, it was an easy decision to make on which Blu-Ray player to get. True to the reviews posted, this unit lives up to the hype. Easy to install and operate and the Blu-Ray discs look great on our TV.

Excellent 4k player, highly rated and works really awesome on any tv in the house - plus it’s small size is easy to move around as needed. I will be getting another for our living room. Primary tv is Samsung and it works flawlessly with it.

So I finally upgraded to have a UHD Blu-ray Disc player. They offer uhd streaming, but it somehow didn’t convince me. I tried the disc, and WOW! Big difference. I’m still old school, and like to have hard copies. It is convenient to stream, but u just can’t compare. I would wait for a good deal on one. Recommended.

I have a few movies purchased in 4K including Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the new Avengers: Endgame, also has the capability to stream those movies along with others I already own. Access to other apps is also helpful, especially VUDU, Amazon, ATT TV Now and Hallmark Now.

Excellent 4K Blu-ray player. Sound and video feeds into Denon DHT-S216 Sound bar w/4k pass through via HDMI. And, from there into Samsung TY700D-Series Crystal Ultra HD 4K TV. I cannot describe the experience with 4k movies. Buy yours now!

I needed a relatively compact DVD player and this fits the bill. The remote is simple and the quality is excellent. The only downside in my opinion is that it doesn’t take a standard AC cord. It was not clear to me from the description on the box that this takes a specialized adaptor (which is included). It would be a pain in the neck to replace if it ever got misplaced.

Wasn’t sure I really needed an upgrade from regular blu rays but wow, movies in 4K are awesome. Not only the image but the sound is incredible. I love that this player has Dolby Vision which was the deciding factor in me purchasing it since my tv supports it. Great overall purchase!

Small and easy to set up. Has worked great so far. My only complaint is that it didn't come with the cable to attach it to the TV so I had to go and buy one separately - they should put that more prominently on the box to save a trip to the store. Have only used it with DVDs so far but assume BluRay playback will be fine.

I thought my Xbox one x was a good 4K Blu-ray player until I learned it doesn’t support Dolby vision for discs. DEAL BREAKER. This player makes my 4K discs look and sound great with Dolby vision/atmos and the 1080p Blu-rays look amazing too.

I bought this player when I got the 65” Z9D and ST5000 soundbar. Initially the only issue I had with the blue ray player was it wouldn’t update via the internet so I called Sony and the rep said there was an issue and I’d have to do it via usb stick no problem but after I got the usb stick the next day I downloaded the update then I figured I’d try one more time via internet and it worked. So it has a beautiful picture and no complaints. Also when I first purchased the ST5000 soundbar I obviously got a bad one because the audio kept cutting out and the only way to get it to come back on was to power off then back on very annoying so I gave it a bad review then returned it for another one and I’ve had this one now for about 3 weeks or so and no issues perfect so far.

This blu-ray player is phenomenal and such a good deal for the price. The 4K picture is genuinely great and the HDR is especially crisp on my tv. Really easy to use as well and the menu’s aren’t hard to navigate whatsoever!

While this UHD 4K blu-ray player doesn’t have all the perks of the X800–it can’t join “5G” WiFi networks, for example—it does have something its older brother doesn’t: Dolby Vision capability. HD10 is nice, but if your HDTV is capable of handling Dolby Vision enhancement, the boost in color intensity and contrast make this player worth looking for. It also plays SACDs and a wide range of lossless music files, just like the X800, so this unit loses you very little while offering you, in my opinion, a little more than the more expensive Sony.

I bought this to pair with a Sony 75 inch 900f and so far I have been very pleased. Setup was easy since both devices are sony. I have this wired to a Denon receiver and then from there to the tv. We bought the Lion King in 4k and it was like being in the theater

This player is perfect for limited budgets! It was very easy to setup! I do recommend buying a higher quality HDMI cable to optimize the picture and sound quality. I highly recommend this product!

I bought this to replace my Samsung 3d player and it is great. It does 3d and 4k and upscales to 4k. I highly recommend it for 4K tv's and non 4k alike. It also has Sony SMART features and WIFI for your streaming needs.
