Already had a Sony BDP-S6500 I was very happy with from BluRay, DVD, CD & SACD. Now have added 4K to the mix and very pleased with my limited use so far. Only complaint is that both machines respond to both remotes. Sony needs a remedy for this.

If you are looking for a 4K player that has a limited number of apps, it’s perfect for you. The apps I use that are available on this device are Vudu, Hulu, Netflix, and WWE. There is no way to search and add apps you want. It comes with a handful of preinstalled apps, but no Movies Anywhere or FandangoNow. It really enchanced 4K/UHD content on my Toshiba FireTV.

Nice player. Supports all the best formats except for hdr10+ but who needs that with Dolby vision. Looks nice and the player is quiet. My receiver takes care of the sound and picture so I didn’t need a fancy 4k player to render those.

Works well. Setup super easy. Apps and wireless work better than the $3500 A9G OLED Android tv I have to go with it! Only missing item was lack of HBOMax, hopefully will be added in future update, then I won't have to use Tv apps.

We purchased this player to replace an old Samsung model. Picture quality is great, easier to use! So far we’re very happy with this purchase.

Simple hookup. Easy to use and setup. Remote synched easily with my Samsung tv. Only need the single remote to control the tv and Blu-ray player. Smooth opening and closing and very quiet spinning the disc. Great picture also.

Sony does a great job with consistently providing updates for their BD players for both the player firmware, but also for the apps, providing a quality viewing experience. Set up of this device was easy, it is always up-to-date, sound and video quality are excellent.

I like this unit. I went with this instead of the UBP-X800 just because I preferred the smaller size. I know the chassis isn't as beefy but if you're like me once I put my Blu-Ray player in my entertainment center it stays there for years and doesn't move. That being said, the nice chassis didn't score any extra points with me. The firmware update was kind of a pain. I was able to easily connect to my home network via wifi but kept getting a error message informing me that Sony Network could not be contacted at this time. I used wired connection. Same outcome. I went to Sony's product information site and downloaded the update to a flash drive. No problems that route. I like the interface. It's simple and easy to navigate. My 4K discs look amazing. Westworld, Interstellar, The Revenant, look great and this thing pretty much covers any audio format you may desire. Menu, Visuals, Audio and form factor all score high marks from me.

I found this unit really easy to set up, even with a nine-year-old Yamaha home theater receiver. It's relatively quick to come up and the standard HD Blu-Rays are stunning, even on my old Panasonic plasma TV. It's ready for the future with 4K and 3D and the newest sound technology.

I love this Blu-ray player, I had a Samsung and replaced it with this Sony and hands down, this Sony out performs the Samsung. There is no comparison. I connect to Youtube, a pre-installed app on this Sony. I would highly recommend this product. 5 out of 5 stars!!!!

Love that Sony finally stepped up and included Dolby Vision on a 4k player! Thus far has worked flawlessly with out 55" x930e 4k HDR TV. We primarily us this for up-scaling some of the kids movies and use it for a couple of DV titles too since out 4k Projector doesn't support DV.

I wanted to get a 4K UHD blu-ray player since our TVs all support 4K Dolby Vision. This player supports this and is fast and easy to setup. As an added bonus, it was very easy to add device into the Logitech Harmony elite for easier use.

The user interface is kinda bleh. I'm a tech nerd but I still think UI's for TV's and blu-ray players should be something even an old person should be able to use. Once you see how's it's laid out I suppose it's fine. Picture quality is great which should come as no surprise. I'm pairing this with a TCL 6 Series and the Dolby Vision is great.

Works perfectly out of the box. Has all essential features and at a bargain price. You can pay more for high end players, but this Sony is a bargain for users who just want 4Kblu-ray that functions flawlessly.

Premature, as I have not yet received the laptop I purchased. It is still in the store. They are transferring my old files from my old computer to my new computer. I cannot tell you it is the BEST device because the device I wanted is on back-order and I need to use it at a zoom meeting music camp now, within the next week. I got my 2nd choice. I think I will be happy with its ease of use but it is heavier than I would prefer to lug around. Mostly I will be using it at home where the weight is not an issue, but that feature is NOT ideal. I have to have a pretty large screen to be able to see the text, and size relative to weight is of concern. I think I will get used to having no mouse. I got an external CD drive for copying music and videos. I wanted support and an extended warranty so I paid extra for that. The price was good especially with a discount for the box having been opened. I am a little concerned, leery that the customer brought it back and no reasons were disclosed .....Hoping I did not get a lemon.

The best purchase I've made all year. Picture is phenomenal. My OLED and the Sony blue Ray combined makes for great family movie night. Combine with the one way HDMI chord makes for a perfect picture. The remote does not light up which makes it hard to look for the correct button when all the lights are off.

I wanted a 4K Blu Ray disc player saw the Sony on sale at Best Buy, great price for a quality player that has everything you need, 4k streaming etc. I watched newly purchased 4K Blu Ray disc movies, picture was phenomenal!

Very good 4K blue ray player Sony puts out great products great picture and easy to use love it wi fi capabilities Sony will never dissapoint would suggest if you want a great player without breaking bank get this one by Sony

I really like this Blue Ray player, Very good quality and very easy to set up all the features. work's very well. I have it hooked up to a Sony Brava 4K HDR TV and Yamaha receiver. I replaced my older Sony Blue Ray player because it could not play today's formats.

My first 4k player, had a blu-ray player that died and a 4k TV. So it was time to upgrade anyway. The difference was dramatic, and Sony has done a great job with this player. Like all the wifi options, and the remote is easy to use.
