I really can’t tell much of a difference in picture quality but I’m just playing Blu-ray’s. Can’t bring myself to spend $35 on 4K Blu-ray’s. I only bought because our old Blu-ray player wasn’t playing audio anymore and needed replacing.

It also has a secondary hdmi audio output which is great if your reciever doesn't support hdr/dv/eARC so you can run video directly to your TV while still having surround sound.

I have been playing my Blu-ray dvds thru my Xbox one S for the past 2 years and have been thoroughly impressed by the upscaling, I was hoping this DVD player would be close.... and well... ITS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!

Decided to go with Sony products because of reliability. Unfortunately had to take this player back twice. Had trouble powering up on first occasion and then the second new one would freeze on home screen. Third one was the charm. Best Buy was great to deal with. No questions asked just wanted too make sure we were happy. Thanks BB for the great customer service!
