This DVD player is outstanding

A little buggy, it would freeze every now and then. Hopefully this issue will be fixed on future update. Also, you have to enable /disable dolby vision every time, it does not switch automatically.

There was a loud screeching sound when playing discs. It would go when the movie plays. I had to ship out the first one and waited for the new one come in the mail. It was very inconvenient for me at the time. My new one works completely fine the way it's supposed to now.

The controls are easier than only other. However, I have replaced several. They have a very short lifespan—on average two to three years. This is my first 4K Player. I use it only on weekends and did not take it out of the box until 12 months ago. It is consistently freezing and then shutting down within the first half hour. If I pause it for any length of time, it will not allow any buttons to function except to power down. Will I still buy another Sony? Most likely. But it seems the original Bluray players would last years—-now they are like “throwaway phones”.

Tried a different brand UHD player and it was really slow with the wifi and slow to start the movie. Exchanged it for the Sony, and as usual with Sony products, was very satisfied. I should have known from the start.

For some reason it didn’t want to turn off and when I wanted it to open, neither the remote or the button on the player itself would work. I would have to unplug and replug it in to get it to open. Hum bug so I returned it. Quality is great though. And it comes with other streaming apps. When I popped in a disc, it doesn’t automatically play the movie. I would have to select play with the remote first. So it’s just one more step. If the darn thing would just open, I would have kept it.
