Needed a 4k bluray player that wouldn't break the bank. I only steeamed 4k video up to the point of purchasing this player. Uhd bluray play much better than streaming in my opinion. It even does a great job of upscaling standard bluray up to 4k quality. It may not be the best player on the market but it opens the door to great 4k video.

Maybe second place to other stronger build units such model above this one but is awesome in ability. Works great with 900e and beyond tv's also. And always get the extended warranty as there will always be the 90 doa on all products sold by all manufacturers.

One of the best BR players and it is a pretty good streamer also. You can't go wrong with this model and with most Sony products in my opinion. I don't know if anyone makes a model that would be comparable with this device.

Does a great job on Blu-ray. I can’t give a review on 4K because I don’t own one-yet. Of course I am using it on a new TV also. I do like the fact that it just doesn’t take over the TV when powered on. Not sure whether it’s because of Tv or Player. But I love it.

For the price I wish it was a bit more responsive. When Watching videos on the internet sometimes the voice brakes up like an old VHS tape might do sometimes. It only does it infrequently and I don't think it is the internet. But the selection right now with COVID working against imports it is the best option

I am one of many who bemoan the premature passing of 3D. When my other player started to act up, I decided to replace it while 3D was still an option. At the time of purchase, this was the only player at BB that listed it.

We got our first 4K DVD & were excited to try it out on our 2 year old 4K TV. Got a good deal on this Sony 4K player & bought a new 4K cable to go with it. Player connected easily to our TV & WiFi. Not impressed with 4K output, regular Blu-Ray picture was brighter & better. Told our TV was probably to "old". Player plays regular Blu-Ray disks very well.

the player is a good player for the time that it has run.

I use my disk players as a makeshift media server (sort of). All previous players I've tried had trouble playing back movie files over a certain size or length. This unit is smooth. I can load all my video files from my episode disks and they play great.

At first I loved this Blu-Ray player. It’s much smaller than my previous unit which was a big plus. However in the month I have had it, it has stopped responding twice to any sort of interaction, whether it be with a remote or trying to turn it on directly on the unit itself. In order to fix it, I had to get down on the floor and reach behind my entertainment unit to unplug and plug it back in. While this solves the issue, I should not have to do this at all, let alone twice in a month of ownership. I expected better of Sony.
