Bought this Sony blue ray player with built in apps such as Netflix and Amazon prime since my Start TV kept losing wi fi connection. The streaming quality of the Sony player is amazingly crisp.

I was holding out for the last two years to buy an Ultra HD Blu-ray player. When this one went on sale for $169, I had to spring for it. Love it so far. No issues, and fast disc access. Highly recommended!

This blu-ray is an excellent buy. Netflix works great and the blu-rays play fine. Only a tiny green power light so it would be good fro a bedroom.

I love watching my 4K movies on the player. The picture is so sharp, detailed and clear. The audio goes through my Bose system and it is so realistic! Great price!

Good product using the HDMI capabilities within Sony products. I only need to turn on the Blu-ray and it will turn on the TV and speakers. No need for all the smart features. Hey are integrated into the Sony TV.

Good value. Features vs. price was good. If you don't have a smarttv then this is a good way to get your streaming apps such as Netflix. Very quiet, small footprint, low power.

Purchased this higher end Blu-ray player. So glad we did as the load time is fast. Extremely pleased with the product and shipping in just two days after ordering at the local store.

Blu-ray movies are incredible with the 4k Ultra HD capability. Coupled with my Sony TV, our living room is converted to a theater.

This is an excellent pairing with any 4K TV. Even better if you have an HDR-10 or Dolby Vision compatible TV. I was using an Xbox One X for Bluray/UHD playback but in my opinion this is better. The interface is much simpler and easier to use without all of the advertisements and gaming clutter that I get with the Xbox. Two of the biggest advantages of having this standalone player is that it is fast and most importantly quiet! Being a bit of a nerd I also like that when playing a disc I can hit the display button and see exactly data it is outputting to my TV such as resolution, HDR/SDR, video and audio codecs and bitrates. The only real downside that I see is that it is expensive and may not have everything you need for your home cinema. You will probably need to complement the disc player with something that has support for apps that are currently missing on this platform such as HBO or a network app such as Disney Now. Probably a good player for 1080p blu-ray disks, but not for 4k blu-ray. I purchased for playing the complete series of Game of Thrones (GOT) in 4k blu-ray. I've played 4 seasons of the series which has 4 disks per season. This player froze video on probably 13 of the 16 disks I've viewed so far, many disks froze several different times. The percentage of disks affected in my opinion eliminates the GOT disk quality as a cause of the failures. I've had this unit for 2 months and it failed the second day I had it. Recycling the power to the player normally allows the player to resume play properly, but not always. Usually the video freezes do not repeat in the same disk location, so I don't believe the laser is at fault. Sometimes the pull-down menus on the disk will have the graphics, but not the text on them. Other times the player can't navigate the pull-down menus or process selections in the pop-up menus properly. This would indicate some type of electronic component timing issue, lack of sufficient memory or something inhibiting the processor from handling the instruction set properly. After I had playback issues, I saw on other websites that this unit (and other brand players to a lesser extent) have issues with 4k disk playback freezing. I am not confident that 4k disk player technology is fool proof. Unfortunately, the industry has very few manufacturers with very limited models so there probably aren't many resources being applied toward future products with the increase of video streaming vs. owning a physical copy of programming. I am returning this product to buy a player from a different manufacturer for my GOT disk set.

Awesome movies I did not realize how important the correct HDMI cable is when purchasing new Blu-ray player. I everything about the movie picture the colors the background the clarity all amazing

This UBP-X700 Sony Blu ray player does everything except put the disc in the player. Having the wifi capability makes using apps easy to access. Sony has done a nice job of making all of their products easy to use.

This most wonderful Blu-Ray Player was worth every penny. It has 3-D (so one day I will be able to use that). It has 4K HD (so one day I will be able to use this). More to the point, the aspect-ratios are correct.

This replaces a 6 year old Sony Blu-Ray player but it offers so much more than the older model. This was easy to setup and use. I love the 4K upscaling to my QLED 4K TV.

I have not used it yet. But as I slowly but surely add the 4 K Blu Ray discs to the collection, I will need something to play them on. And at the price Best Buy was offering, it was too hard to pass up. Piece by piece moving forward towards the future.

Good value and a nice unit for transitioning from some older equipment to 4k thanks to the extra HDMI jack. It also eliminates the need for a Chromecast for screen casting.
