Needed to get a smaller sized UHD blu ray player to fit in my small component cabinet. The size is probably the reason that the price is so high for this player, because it doesn't come with much amenities.

This is a really good DVD player. We got it for the 4K DVD’s and for the most part it works really well. Occasionally it will freeze up on a dvd, but once I switched the HDMI cable over that has more or less stopped. Great for what I need it for.

Purchased to go with a TCL 4k 55" tv. I haven't used all of the feature but I will say blueray and 4k dvd's are awesome with this and Deliverance was like being there and it was a regular dvd.

I have used it only to play blu ray and it converts them just fine to a 4K TV set. Purchased this model as it doubles as an SACD player. Only gave it 4 stars because of having to manually set the format when I finally start to play 4K disks a minor inconvenience.

Finally got a blue ray player for my new Sony 75 inch 900 f. I also bought 4 k uhd blue ray DVDs to go with it. Incredible viewing experience.

Internet can be spotty and digital can suffer, hurting the 4k quality. Disc is still a better quality than digital nonetheless and this player makes movies as beautiful as can be with internet requirements. Only a poor UI brings down the experience.

Easy set-up. Picture quality is tack sharp. I also appreciate how it upconverts standard DVDs, making my existing non-4K movies that much more enjoyable. Another quality Sony unit.

Upset that I had to purchase another DVD player as the one I purchased less than 2 years ago stopped working. I paid $200 for a new one and didn’t have any choice but to buy the same player as my system was wired by the Geek Squad. All of my wiring was setup in the garage and wired through the wall to my living room. It left me know choice but to spend another $200 to use the wiring that was in place. I took the player that wasn’t working to Best Buy and was told it might cost a lot to see “IF” it could be fixed. They suggested a buy another one as they are not very expensive!

Does a great job playing 4k blue ray and up scaling standard blue ray to 4k. The only complaint is not the best streamer! You can play Netflix in 4k but not Amazon and the player seems to have issues with Dolby vision. I had to leave Dolby Vision turned off.

As others has stated on various review sites, this unit is a bit slow on boot up. But when this unit is up and ready, what a player! 4K and 3D content plays nicely on my 4K/3D BenQ projector.

The unit is awesome, plays all DVD's/Blu-Ray's and has numerous apps programmed in and the ability to add any app one could want, easy set up and play.

Completed my 4k upgrade with this player. Used Pixar, Marvel, and Harry Potter to confirm the HDR works really well too. Modulo the restricted sources (Netflix, Hulu, YouTube) it streams 4k well too.

Had to upgrade my old DVD player to 4K model. Now I can watch all my new DVD’s in 4K. It was easy to set up and connect. Sony makes a good product And it’s compatible with my Sony 4K TV.

I cannot say that I see any major difference when using standard Blu-ray or 4k disc. I purchased a few 4ks to compare and again I saw no significant difference. I went back to purchasing Blu-rays over 4k unless they were on sale.

Works as advertised, HDR TO SDR converter is great, but Dolby Vision needs work. Its constantly on when using Netflix, which is not correct

This player was chosen because it will play closed captioned DVDs through HDMI connections. Sony is one of the few manufacturers that offer this capability. Important for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Take 2: I have the younger sib of the UBP-X700 and love it. The UBP-X700 extends the love. Paired with the Sony X950H pure bliss. A match made in my film heaven.

This is a great Sony 4K player. I like the fact of the minimalistic Apps. I don’t think you need 20 Apps with a Blu-ray player. That is what a smart tv is for.

I bought this for my son this Christmas. It's heavily web enabled which we can't use due to limited internet access. It does however, play all of the DVD formats very well.

Easy to use and plays my 4k and 4k ultra movies beautifully. They look stunning with my new Sony 65 inch A1E. I don't need to leave my living room to have the full immersive movie experience.
