I wanted a 4K Blu Ray player for a while but I could not find an affordable one that supported Dolby Vision. Alas, Sony announced DV support for the UBX700 and dropped the price sub $200. Suddenly, true 4K Picture quality and sound felt attainable. It does not come without it's flaws, however. It does feel cheaply made and plastic-y compared to it's older sibling the UBX800. And, yes... I did experience the rare stutter in certain movies. BUT, I have read that even some of the most expensive 4K players can have that issue (save for the Oppo players and a few, few others apparently) and it only happened once per film so it isn't a major issue. Highly recommend if you're like me and want to give 4K a go but don't want to overspend on it.

This Blu-ray player has a beautiful picture. I bought it for the combined features of 4K and also Dolby Atmos. I haven't reconfigured my sound system yet, so I can't speak to that portion, but so far it looks fantastic.

Great buy, bought this for $150, what a great deal! The only issue I've experienced a few times was freezing. Other than that its been great. Also, dolby vision is included! The quality of 4K on this is defiantly an improvement compared to streaming 4K.

this is more player than I needed to play my CD collection, but it has complemented my living room audio system nicely. Good sound playing back through a receiver. Incredibly easy to set up.

It is just what we wanted. Something in a small size, but fully functional. It fits in the space we had planned for it, without standing out, and it plays DVDs with a great picture.

We have a Samsung 3D Blu-ray that plays 4k but it would not play the 4k UHD Blu-ray movies. I think this is a newer technology from when we bought the Samsung 5 years ago. After some thinking, we decided to upgrade so we could watch some of the 4k UHD movies with had bought. The video is crystal clear as expected but the sound,,,, now that is incredible. I think it is the Dolby Atmos that makes the difference. Definitely happy we upgraded. Also, if you stop turn off the player during a movie and you turn the player back on later, it will sense the last scene watched and ask if you want to continue where you left off. Really like this feature.

Got this on sale which made great value. 4k picture is incredible. Has ability to connect to multiple other services so could have skipped the Roku. Easy to use and Harmony remote controls it well.

Fast, streams WiFi, 4K HDR, what more could you want? Well one thing that is lacking is the remote. It's tiny, but I've found that the remote for many main stream products seem to be an afterthought in design.

If you’re looking for a high quality 4K player for a fair price than look no further. It is actually better than the model above it, as it support Dolby Vision and the ubp-800 does not. I have been very pleased with it.

Great pictures, great sound, easy to use. I pair is with a Sony A8H oled and still decent quality. Does everything... music , steaming apps and upconverts dvds. Price is fantastic

This player is super sleek looking. It’s small enough to fit in any entertainment space. It’s light as it’s made most of plastic which is a small draw back. It does feel a slight bit hollow but when it’s left placed on a tv stand it looks sleek, strong and compact. The WiFi connectivity is strong. I’ve had no issues connecting and video playback has been flawless and prestine. The 4K resolution is incredible and watching blue rays is amazing. It even upscales regular HD movies streaming on Netflix close to 4K resolution. It does an amazing job at that. The interface is alittle outdated but I just ignore that and get straight to the apps. This is a must have if you have a 4K display or even if you don’t, you should still consider having this as your streaming device.

This blu-ray player is an excellent value for the money. It is easy to setup and works great. I would recommend it. I haven't tried it with 4k yet but I am sure it will be great.

It was easy to set up and performs well. I like the way it automatically sets the aspect ratio for older 3:4 DVDs. The Wi-Fi capabilities were easy to set up and work fine.

We purchased this unit to connect to our new TV and it is easy to use, provides very good quality picture with my Blu Ray collection and contains many streaming apps. Works very well.

I have had this Sony player for about 2 months and I like it. It is easy to use and the remote is simple. The picture quality rings true on the TV. I think this one is definitely a good purchase for me.

The features for the value are great. Was extremely easy to set up. Has all of the primary streaming content I needed. I loved my other Sony products and this one fits into the network perfectly.

I had bought an LG UBK90 player but found it paused for several seconds at one point in a number of discs and locked up completely on one. I returned it, bought the Sony UBP-X700 and tried it with those same discs. They all played flawlessly. I haven't tried the player with other disc types (Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, CD, SACD, etc.) to see how they do and I haven't really tried any streaming with it as I have other devices for those purposes. I just wanted a reliable UHD player that handled HDR10 and Dolby Vision and this does that for a reasonable price.

This Sony Blu-ray/Streaming device has been a life saver during Covid!! Netflix, Prime, Hulu and upgrades the quality of regular dvds. Plays 4K, Blu Ray and dvd. Super easy to set up!!

Excellent video quality. Improved audio is surprisingly good when compared to previous players used. Easy and quick updates, easy to use. Regular Blu ray audio and video up scales not Celt. Very satisfied.

Sony Blu-Ray Player....easy setup....works perfectly....no problems of any kind....I'm loving it! I considered every brand...read reviews...so glad I bought the Sony.
