Works great easy setup, wish it had more capability in adding apps, but otherwise, to play movies from DVD to 4K, great experience

This is an excellent blu-ray player at the right price. The picture it produces is outstanding and 1080p discs are up converted to appear to be 4k. The picture is close to perfect. It only takes a small footprint on your shelf. Others have complained about the lack of a front panel display but all you need to do is press the "display" button on the remote and all of the data appears on the bottom of your TV screen. Very satisfied with this purchase. So much so that I bought a 2nd one for another room.

Have enjoyed my Sony 4k Blu-ray player. Easy to set up and great picture. I use the streaming a lot and have had no problems. Highly recommend.

Sony has updated a fantastic product in a smaller package with more exceptional quality and ease of operation.

Great picture and black levels. Streaming is fast and consistent without freezing up. The unit doesn't have to be reset by unplugging it every few days.

My Chinese projector doesn’t allow me to install or run Apps like YouTube or Netflix so the Sony 4K DVD player was my way around this. I had been using it for about an hour per day for the past year to watch YouTube while exercising on my stationary bike. Unfortunately, it stopped receiving my wireless signal from my ATT U-verse modem and I couldn’t get it corrected (still plays 4K DVDs however). I replaced it with the exact same model last month! Hope this one lasts longer than a year. I only used it for watching a few movies last year and I thought the DVD disk reader would wear out much faster than the wireless Apps connection!

Once had a hangup recognizing a blue ray disc was inserted and had to unplug the unit and restarted the unit. Worked well. Video images are great. Simple to use. Also plays 3D movies.

I purchased this player because of the following features: 1) Dolby Vision (which matches my LG OLED TV), 2) plays Super Audio CDs (I know........ not too many people use this capability), 3) plays FLAC files (supposedly, although I still have not tested this), and 4) a second HDMI output for AUDIO (this saved me from just receiving Dolby Digital (and not DTS Master or True HD) sound from my TV, as my receiver does not have HDMI ARC. Lifesaver! CONS: 1) does not display time played in its front face, 2) does not connect anymore to Gracenote while playing Audio CDs (I knew this going in, but it is still a bummer), and 3) Sony Entertainment Network does not have many stream options (definitely not as much as Roku nor LG TVs).

Bought the exact model a year and a half ago, which recently stopped working. It’s easy to set up and priced well for what you are getting. Fingers crossed it lasts longer than the last one we had.

Great Picture quality! Upgraded from a LG 4K Blu-Ray player. Can notice a big difference especially while in Dolby Vision mode.

Love this Sony DVD player. 4K resolution and picture quality are stellar. Very easy to play movies and access the streaming services.

Just starting off in HT and wow does this 4k player really make a difference was using vudu to stream and having the disc makes a huge difference

I have the UBP X-800 and wanted to try and smaller version. Works well. Can't really tell a difference. Size is better and having Dolby Vision support is a plus.

I purchased two of these to replace older DVD players that did not play well with my new Samsung 7 Series TVs. I wanted a player that would upscale DVDs as well as play the Blu-rays. Setup was easy and didn't take long. One of the players downloaded a firmware update once it was connected to the wi-fi. The remote easily connected to the tvs as well as the Samsung sound bar. The quality of the picture is excellent. For those who haven't got a Roku, Apple TV, etc., the player will stream Netflix, You tube and others. All in all, a good value and a nice player.

This is a great little player for entry level. Very easy to use and set up. You will see I rated value high it was on sale when I bought it at $129.00

This is such a great upgrade to the LG player I had, the sound is so much better, and the dolby vision is amazing. Highly recommended

This player replaced my Samsung 8500 UHD player. The Samsung had a terrible lip synching issue when streaming video on my network which could not be adjusted. The Good... The Sony does not have that problem, the synching was perfect. It responds faster. You can have the player adjust the video output for displays without HDR. It also supports DolbyVision. Picture quality was without fault. The Bad... The Wi-Fi on this player is terrible. Signal Strength is a lot weaker than any other player I used on the network, including several older Sony Blu-Ray players and the Samsung. It does not have Bluetooth like the X800. The new screen menu system is not as good as the older Sony PS3 display. The remote is very tiny and the buttons are too close together.
