This is my first time to own a 4k disk player. I was very excited when i purchased this 4k disk player. I love the 4k video it plays. It displays very rich picture depth. However, my old Sony blu-ray player also play great video! The price for 4k disk player and 4k movies are high. If you're not crazy like me then stick to your old Blu-Ray player.

I got this with a Sony 65" X900F TV and a Sony X900F soundbar. Saved $850 with pre Black Friday prices. I had another Blu-Ray player. This one is faster to load by far. I am amazed by the quality of this product at the price I paid.

Purchased this on sale for $149 and it has proven to be money well spent. The Blue Ray DVD’s (which I have been getting reacquainted with given our current times) look great on the OLED TV. Additional, I was very happy to be able to keep this purchase under $150 b4 tax.

I like this player a lot. The apps don't necessarily play well on it (the AV sync is really off on some of them), but I didn't buy it for the apps. It will play videos from a USB drive, and it has good picture. I do wish it would automatically turn on/off Dolby Vision on a disc-to-disc basis. Instead, you need to check your movies and make sure to turn it on/off for each one.

Huge movie buff & collector here. Recently bought a 75” smart TV, so the streaming aspect wasn’t too important to me, but it is a great feature! I only own a few 4K blu rays, and they look phenomenal! I didn’t expect the high quality up res on my standard Blu-ray’s, but it’s purely amazing.

Sony has once again made a great DVD player. Picture quality is excellent. Many Other features that match or surpass other competitors DVD players. I would recommend purchasing this DVD player highly. You will be glad you did and will enjoy it for many years to come.

This Sony Blu-Ray Player takes my viewing pleasure to a new level. It also flawlessly works with my new Yamaha receiver. I am totally satisfied with this product and the professional contact with Best Buy. Oh yes, the price was very satisfactory.

Wonderful Blu-Ray Player. It comes with apps you can project onto your TV screen and watch/use them rather than using a CD. Nice hand control that works well with the TV. So glad I bought it. It was easy to set up with my TV hardware and hook into my WiFi system.

I was wondering which Blu-Ray to upgrade to as I was having issues w/a very old Samsung. I found the Sony to be compatible and when I use it (which isn't often) to be of high quality. Was also concerned about the connectivity but no issues. Good purchase at the right price!

Easy hook up and simple to use. Great DVD player for the price

I purchased this Sony blu-ray player for my son-in-law for Christmas. It is replacing a very old Sony blu-ray player. I'm guessing it was about 8-10 years old. I hooked it up for him and he was amazed at how much improvement in load times for blu-rays and picture quality of both blu-ray's and dvd's. It as helped that it was on sale for $149.00.

If you want the best home cinema experience, then nothing beats 4K Ultra Blu-ray. Five times the Bitrate of your typical 4K streaming service plus uncompressed Dolby TrueHD sound with Dolby Atmos on top. Pair this with a quality 4K HDR TV and a Dolby Atmos Audio System and you won’t miss going to the Cinema. This Blu-ray player supports all the major standards plus has support for the high end audio Super Audio CD format as a bonus. Sony invented the format so they might as well continue to support it. I bought an SACD to test it out and it does sound pretty good. Make sure you get a good HDMI cable for this and any other high bandwidth 4K device. I have been getting the HDMI cables labeled 8K to ensure the best connection.

So far so good. Responds fast to opening and closing. It is normal speed on recognizing the DVD/Blu-Ray in the tray. Our last blu-ray was a samsung and it took forever to respond and then would open and close constantly. This Sony seems to be pretty solid so far. The video quality meets my expectations and the menu setup is user friendly.

I have had to reboot this a few times to get it unstuck. However, when it works, it works well. Menu's are easy, response times are acceptable, ability to split audio to receiver and video to TV directly was why I purchased this. It does a fair job at upscaling I suppose, though cannot determine who is upscaling atm, the TV or player or both - either way its working.

This Sony provides and excellent picture and sound. Menu is easy to navigate and the streaming apps that come with it provide me with apps that I can't get on my LG tv. I highly recommend this product and am thinking of getting another one for the bedroom.

I was really exited about the 4K Dolby vision but I guess you really need a OLED TVs

So far so good. I've had several Blu Ray players over the years. Sonys have always been the best. This one I've had over a month, an still not an issue yet . Plays Blu Ray and dvd perfect. Not sure about the 4k or streaming, buy I am very happy with the later results!
