I needed a new Blu Ray player, and one that supports 4k. after checking other reviews, I decided on the Sony UBP-x700. Playback is smooth, set up easy, and loads fast. I haven't used any of the bulit in streaming options as I already have that set up since it is attached to Amazon Fire TV.

Bought this mainly to play UHD Blu-ray discs. Not to many players left on market since OPPO decided not to make players anymore. It does an excellent job, only gripe would be about having to manually select Dolby vision. If you don't know you can look it up on the thread on avsforum for the x700

I bought this Sony BlueRay to complement my girlfriend’s new Sony TV. It is a considerable upgrade from what she had. It was incredibly easy to install - just add an HDMI cable, plug in power cable and we were watching our movies.

I purchased two as I upgraded to 75 inch sets. Sony XBR-75X900F and LG. The Sony’s are really nice units.

Only got this because the 800 and the 1000 series DO not do Dolby Vision. wish it was full size but am 100% pleased with its performance....Have this hooked to a Sony XBR-65X900F with Authentic Audioqest Carbon Cables (BIG difference between a generic HDMI cable especially in Dolby Vision)

i also have the x-800 which is a outstanding player, but do not be fooled by the size and build quality of the x-700. yes it is small and compact. the picture quality on this player seems to be even better than the x-800. the colors are more beautiful and on point. for the price you are getting a steal.

Had some issues with initial setup and HDMI handshake issues. Once I replaced with hi-speed HDMI cables it was no issue but then had issues using both HDMI outs (1 for video and other for audio). After some troubleshooting I got it working. Should have been easier but it works now. Picture quality is great, discs load quickly and the interface is fairly responsive.

Picture quality is great and loads fast. Love the features in the options section. Only minus is the remote is too small for me, but most brands are also making them smaller. Great for the price and would recommend it highly.

The player got an update as soon as it was running. This update added Dolby Vision HDR capabilities to the player. I have played both 4k HDR10 movies and Dolby Vision movies on the player. Both look great. To get Dolby Vision you must allow it in the setup. Once that is done it works great.

Has been a perfectly operational unit since purchase. The menu is good, input is responsive. It’s a Sony, so I expect no less. It’s nice and slim so it isn’t very obtrusive in the entertainment center, and looks pretty good too.

I wanted to upgrade to a 4K Ultra HD player but held off until I was convinced of the quality and dependability. Sony has been a leader in quality for TV's for a long time. I'm really impressed with this player. It was super easy to install. It works smoothly and delivers the quality I wanted.

Building a 4k movie collection requires a good blu ray player and this is one of the best in the price range it sits in. The quality is great, now supports Dolby vision and also has smart features so all my fav all's like the streaming services are all in one place! Highly recommend!

The previous 4K Blu-ray player I purchased did not have the current, updated audio standards that my AV receiver processes. This 4K player from Sony however has the necessary Atoms drivers that brings out the true 7.2 surround sound my home theater can deliver.

Very good picture and sound quality. Very easy to install.

This was my first 4K player and it's amazing! It's clean looking (visually and as a physical product) and it's reliable so no complaints. I know people were saying it feels cheap but honestly that doesn't even matter. It does what it's meant to do so that's all that matters.
