I'm just happy being able to play 4K Blu-ray disks, which is the only reason I purchased this Player. I don't use any of the included apps since I can find those in my Sony TV. Easy to setup and easy to use.

Solid UHD Blu-Ray player. Has Dolby Vision, Atmos, Hi-Res support. So easily the best affordable player out there. It's quiet, feature loaded, and cheap with really good performance.

This unit comes with common apps and can be updated through wi fi which is built in. Plays 4K movies and the picture is great. Easy to use and affordable. Sony makes reliable blu ray players as well.

I bought this after my TV started dropping wi-fi connection. My old blu-ray player didn't have all the apps I wanted so instead of replacing the TV I upgraded the player to get the apps I needed. Turned out to be a great choice. Connection and setup was easy, operation is very intuitive. Options not available are greyed out (like playing a disc or usb drive if one is not inserted). Apps can be arranged according to your preferences. The picture is excellent, much improved over my old player. The remote is available to download for Logitech Harmony and works perfectly without having to manually enter commands. I'm couldn't be happier with this purchase and definitely recommend it.

Small but works perfect. 4K is clean. I got at a great price and it’s as good as more expensive models I own. Currently using this in my office and I am very happy with the purchase.

Great Blu-ray player. Excellent 4K video quality. Plus it offers Dolby Vision that hard to find in other Blu-ray players and the price is right for this compact player.

I needed a new 4K player and saw great reviews for this one. Even though it was an older model, the picture is beautiful and works wonderful. Highly recommend this player to anyone on a budget.

was easy to setup. doesn't take up too much space. I don't have a complicated setup, TV and soundbar. I'm older so I may not see detail others do but 4K picture looks very nice to me.

This player is easy to set up and use, loads discs fast and provides best picture ever in our home. If you have a 4k TV and you don't have a 4k Blu-Ray disc player you are missing out on the most visually stunning experience. Remote is small and could have bigger buttons.

Having recently bought SONY Bravia, SONY soundbar and Sony Wireless rear speakers I decided to upgrade the blue ray player to UHD player. Looked at both X800 and X700. The only real difference was 3D on the X800 and was $100 more. Went with the X700. At first player had some issues with remote and turning on Netflix. Took back to BB within the 45 days. No questions asked replaced it with a new one... (thanks BB. Great service) New player works great. Didn't think there would be much difference between Blu Ray and UHD but WOW!!! The 4K with HDR makes the movies look and sound awesome.

When my original UHD blu-ray player decided to call it quits on me. I needed a replacement as I’ve amassed quite a collection. I needed a player that would fit within my budget and do what I needed it to do. Which was to play my movies. Upon purchasing the unit and going to work I had to wait till my shift was over to test it out. When I finally was given the chance to set it up. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to set up. If you are familiar with Sony’s interfaces from their other products than this will be super easy. I set up the WiFi and downloaded the updates to the player. After that I put in a 4K movie and it worked wonderfully. The price was right and the player seems to have a good build quality.

I researched for 2 weeks. I am glad I bought this product. I use it mainly for Netflix and You tube. Cell phone wireless mirroring is a nice feature this blu-ray has. I just wished it had Disney Plus app & or I wished this blue ray could download other Apps besides the ones it has preinstalled.

If you're at all interested in picture quality on your UHD Tv, a 4K player is a necessary evil. There's always going to be some content where we'll allow for a little lapse in quality (I don't need to see Will Ferrell in the highest 8K definition, he's either funny or he's not!). For our adventure, action, and sci-fi sagas we need every pixel to appear as crystal clear as possible, and the only thing that will allow your screen to reach its maximum potential, is to take advantage of the kind of features that are available on a very reasonably priced unit such as this Sony. So hook one up, and enjoy the show!

After purchasing the Sony X700 I connected it to my new 65" LG C7 and updated the Firmware which included the Dolby Vision. After watching Black Panther on 4k UHD I forgot to go into the menu to select Dolby Vision so It played in Standard HDR10. I decided I would finish watching it it that mode to compare it to Dolby Vision. Picture quality was great in both. I got this player on sale and will be keeping it. I think the player is actually very quiet after loading and playing. Although I am sitting about 8 to 12 feet away and have a good sized living room. I have played at least 7 4k UHD, 4 blu-ray and 2 regular DVDs. I prefer using the TV for up converting to 4k so I didn't try using that feature.

Was exactly what I was looking for! Quality is fantastic! Super easy for anyone to use. Is small enough to actually fit right under my Samsung t.v.

Looking for something to play your 4K movies on? look. not further, this little beast is amazing at reproducing the amazing quality that comes from a 4K Blueray. Form both the picture and sound quality. If you pair this bad boy with a good sony tv, your HDR, shadows, and details will blow you away. It is even better when it's on sale. I have this paired with a 65 Sony Z9D, hooked up with AudioQuest cables through a Maranantz 613, powering some B&W speakers. I can only compare this kind of quality to an IMAX theater. Does a much better job than regular cinema thaters.

We've used this player for awhile now. No issues and it's simple to use. I like Sony because they don't put a lot of useless buttons on the remote controls.

I bought this Sony 4K UHD Blu-Ray player to obviously play some 4k content on it. I am extremely pleased as it does exactly that and more! I just needed this for my 4k discs that I buy or rent but it also has integrated apps (which I do not recommend as they are sluggish). The 4K movies look phenomenal when you pair this player up with a 4K Oled tv. This player also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos which was mainly why I bought it. Movies/series that come loaded with the Dolby features look and sound out of this world! It immerses you into the content being played which is something I enjoy frequently.

I was persuaded to buy this unit because of the many customer reviews that gave it high marks in two categories: its price point, and its ability to play 4K disks with terrific results. The latest firmware for this unit gives it the ability to play back content that is encoded with Dolby Vision; some have complained about the need to switch this feature on or off via a menu setting, but I think this is an insignificant issue. As to the streaming apps on this unit, I really can't comment because I use my LG C7 TV's apps instead.
