After having connection issues with a samsung product, bought this Sony model. Very easy to set up (even with my no name brand, "dumb TV"). Netflix streams perfectly. My only complaint (hence 4 stars) is the very low volume....requiring me to jack up the TV volume to almost maximum.

Plays well, but you lose your saved apps and pass words . Didn’t like how you have to sign back in to everything after shutting down and not using for a few days . Sony could fix with a software update. Wanted a Sony , but may look around more next time .

Great Blu-ray player! Haven't tried any 4K Ultra discs yet, but old-school DVDs look great and that was the main point for purchasing. Great size and easy to setup!

I bought this product to upgrade to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and am very satisfied. It was easy to install and when loaded, the picture looked good and the sound was flawless.

This unit was purchased to connect to the 70" 4K tv in the living room. Previously, a Sony Blu-Ray player held that spot [it moved to the bedroom now]. Largely intuitive function, pic and sound great

gives great audio through its Hi-Res audio wife -- I do not use the blu ray player feature yet, but the sound is great

What a fabulous product!! Went in to purchase a model the wife chose from her earlier internet search. Unhappily, I was told there was only 1 DVD player in the store so the floor representative took us to the unit. It appeared to have the features we wanted so we purchased it. Low and behold when we got home and connected it, it was a Sony product that mated quite easily to our Sony Bravia big screen TV. Set up was so easy and the unit far exceeded our expectations! Internet features really make this an excellent product. How often does it happen that you don't find what you were looking for and get something better?

We got this blu ray player to replace one that wasn't as "smart" as the one we had, and are very impressed so far. It is much more intuitive and connects to DVDs and apps very quickly.

Purchased this player to accommodate my 4K TV. Was not disappointed. The picture was so much sharper then the regular Blu-ray. Playing 4K movies on the player result in an amazing picture quality on the 4K TV.

Nice player and got it at a good sale price. Havent used streaming function, we have a smart tv. Nor for 4k disks. Upconverts dvd and blu-ray nicely. Clean picture.

Does everything I need for watching 4K movies. Excellent value....why spend more money than you need. Saw many positive reviews on YouTube and am glad I chose this product!

Sleek simple and gets the job done has different features for Netflix and other streaming services never had an issue and I expect to never have an issue definitely a good buy

I bought this after purchasing a 4k tv. This works beautifully!! I opted for this one instead of the 249.00 dollar one they both both function the same for less, 179.00. Worth the purchase!

The only reason I went with this one and not the X800 by Sony is due to the Dolby Vision update in a few months. The build quality is not as good as the X800 but I would still recommend this one for anyone looking for a budget 4K player. If you want the top tier 4K player get an Oppo.

This is a great player, especially with software update to bring Dolby Vision. Would love to give it a 5, but it is missing LED readout to show time when playing. I miss that feature from my older Samsung BD unit this replaced. Other than that, the picture is great.

Took it out of the box, couple of quick connections, set up the wi-fi and all worked fine. Probably 5 minutes spent! Surprised as to no lighting indicators though.

Having owned this player for the last 1.5 years since almost purchasing our Sony TV it has been dead on reliable, terrific upscaling of non bluray discs. No complaints at all.

Mostly for streaming use so, I was researching the best streaming device and the best two choices I found were the Sony UBP-X700 ($199) vs. Apple TV 4K - 32GB ($179). After weeks of reading pros and cons about each device, finally considered to give a try to the Sony UBP-X700, with the benefit that I can play BRs and DVDs (I got it on sale for $169, even better). Great decision, the picture resolution improvement while I'm streaming movies on Amazon, Netflix, etc. is amazing, no buffering during playing time and no long loading process. Also the upscaling feature while playing DVDs is awesome, honestly I didn't expect that improvement, especially in old DVDs. I'm so happy with my decision and yes, I totally recommend it.

If you've purchased a 4K tv with HDR and want a theater quality movie experience at home, I highly recommend this player for watching 4K Blu-ray discs. A worthwhile step above regular Blu-ray playback.

With the ease of streaming these days, this 4K player doesn't get as much use as it should, because it is hard to beat the HD surround sound that it produces.
