I had to replace my Blu-ray player and wasn't really wanting to spend a lot. This one fit my needs perfectly. The picture quality is amazing and its simple to setup. I also like that it has Wi-Fi and it comes with its own HDMI cable.

Easy setup and works well with all my dvd and blue-ray disks. Nice and compact and is a good player for the price. Easy to configure with a well thought out remote.I have always had good luck with all my Sony home entertainment devices and will continue to use them in the future.

Great dvd blu ray player, good price works great, plays my movies and its very clear

I bought this player as a gift for my ex wife whose old dvd player did not have HDMI ports. Our daughter and grandchildren have come to visit for Canada and love how easy this unit was to set up and its apparent quality.

Plays both Blu-Ray players and dvds, which is great. Sound and picture transfer is flawless, especially if you need to watch and listen to your blu ray movies in an alternate language. Priceless when it adds value and joy to watching your favorite movies in a family setting with different languages.

I got this new BluRay when I upgraded my Sony TV. It works seamlessly with a single remote - which my wife LOVES. It's a simple model with only wired internet (no WIFI option), but if you have a newer TV with WIFI it's really not a necessary option to be able to use Netflix, Hulu, etc. So - for the price and Sony quality - to me it can't be beat!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my in-laws. Something we learned- some Samsung smart tvs don't pair with this (and I believe, any other blu ray players other than samsung, per Samsung support), but that isn't the fault with this player. I have 2 other Sony blu ray players and they work great!

I went through a couple other units of a competing brand and both died on me within a few weeks of purchase (these units were not purchased at bestbuy, that was probably where I went wrong). I picked the Sony up after a recommendation from the salesman and have been very pleased with this player, I hope to have it for a couple years until I make the switch to 4K.

I bought this Blu-Ray player for my parents. All of my home theater components are Sony. My parents have a Panasonic TV. But I still went with the Sony Blu-Ray player. Even though the TV is not a Sony, the two units work well together. Turning on the Blu-Ray player causes the TV to automatically switch to the Blu-Ray player input, which is great. I wasn't sure that would happen with a Panasonic. The only issue is that you must be careful when setting up. There is a very specific order to be followed when connecting and turning on for the first time. Initially, my setup was unsuccessful - there was a picture but no sound. Make sure the device initializes when you first turn it on. If it doesn't, then turn it off and go through the steps again, making sure to follow the proper sequence.

I'm not a big fan of SONY AV products but I purchased this as a secondary Blu-Ray player and it delivers outstanding video and audio. The ease of use, technical specs, compact size and light weight are a plus. Although the next SONY model up from the BDPS1700 offers Wi-Fi, the compact size and the capability to play several formats made this unit my choice.

It's an older model from 2016 and the streaming service feature is more or less obsolete, but I knew that before I purchased. It does is what I bought it for. To stream DVDs and Blu-rays which it does rather well. Nice unit.
