All of my components are Sony, and I love that they synch up. Unfortunately, I kept experiencing the same problem (loss of signal) with this player - until I upgraded my HDMI cable. I bought one of the expensive ones with the braided cord. So far, no more problems, and I can enjoy watching movies again, especially in 3D.
