Great DVD player upscale works great and usb option is what I was looking for. Note this is wired internet connection not wireless

The Sony BDPS1700 plays BD discs well enough for a basic player. The disc tray is a bit flimsy, but useable. The IR sensor is located very near the open/close button, so a stick on IR repeater may cover part of the open/close button or interfere with said button. That said, every piece of audio and video IR controlled electronic equipment should have a working 1/8" IR input jack on the back of the unit. Many pieces of electronics are not in plain sight, therefore an IR repeater or control system makes perfect sense. Typically, the only exposed piece of electronics is the TV, the rest are in a cabinet, or better yet, in a nice temperature controlled remote located equipment rack. End of rant....

We purchased this unit mainly for using the USB port to play movies from a thumb drive which is a nice feature. No need for any software download.

THE LATEST ITEMS I PURCHASE DID THE JOB. THE BEST PART ABOUT IT WAS THE SALES LADY IN THE TV AREA, WAS ALWAYS ON POINT, THAT IS SHE'S VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, CONCERNING ELECTRONIC'S.

The unit is not communicating with the TV. It was a remote install so am still trying to work it out.

Works just as it should, no problems. Easy to use.

This was an anniversary gift to my parents, serving as a way to update from an aging Blu-ray player and EOL support for their smart TV, as this has the apps, the playback features & the reliability.

So when doing my quick homework I neglected to realize that it is not the wifi model . While it's my fault I really can't believe in 2016 they would have a model that only worked via Ethernet cable luckily I use an extended and connected that way but eh

It’s good for a basic DVD player it plays the basic blue rays nothing too fancy the basic 1080 P is what you’ll get HD

Purchased to use with new HP laptop. It has a USB cable with two connectors, and laptop had only one USB port per side. So I had to purchase a USB hub to connect to laptop. Once connected, worked as I needed.

Bought these for my RV. Not much use for BR players anymore at home, but on the road they work when there is no signal for streaming.

I love this product. It's a lot better than my old Blu-Ray player. And I got rid of this and my DVD player. A lot less clutter!

The techs were very helpful, thorough, and efficient. They took care of my concerns in a short amount of time and I had my computer back in use the same day.

While I don't use the Blu-ray Player all that often, I haven't yet experienced difficulty - I'll become more accustomed as my use frequency increases.

It works wonderful as a Blu-ray and DVD player. However, I thought it had built in WiFi whichave it doesn't. This player has to be connected by hard wire to Internet. Other than that no complaints.
