Purchased an open box item and it works great and got it for a reduced price. Nothing negative to say about it. I also purchased and xbox 1x which has a built in blu ray player but found that difficult to use and it wouldn't play a couple of blu rays I had. I use that only for 4k discs.

The Sony BDPS1700 is simple to setup. I don't use the apps since I have a Roku Ultra, so I use it for movies. Video and audio quality are great with blu-ray discs as well as the upscale feature on DVD only. No complaints. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
