Does the job. If near modem, its great. If not splurge for wifi model.

Only issue is that its not wi-fi I already knew that but for those wondering its Ethernet only but good player and it reads movies off of USB stick as well, Ive only tested MKV so far and it works well

Our 1st blue ray a Samsung stopped responding to newer discs and the remote. We also have a Sony blue ray that has never given us any problems. cant beat this at this price

Bought this blu ray player to replace a 10-year-old Samsung player. It's much smaller than my old unit and so far it has worked perfectly. I love the Sony brand.

Running and older none smart tv? Maybe you have a smart tv the brand is no longer supporting. Simple fix buy one these.

I strictly bought this blu-ray to stream tv shows in hopes of getting rid of my $200 cable bill every month. I was told by the sales person that out of all the smart blu rays this was the best one with the most apps. I found that it doesn't have very many apps and that the remote is a joke which makes me not want to use it. It is tiny and makes it take 200 times longer than a regular sized one. This is great for someone who is not tech savvy in the least...like your grandparents

This thing is ready from the time you press the on button. No more waiting for the software to do its thing. Also full of great apps for cable cutting.

If you're primarily looking for a streaming device, I would not get this player. After just a couple of hours of streaming YouTube for instance, it will begin to stutter and the response to the remote will begin to lag by as much as 5 or 10, sometimes 15 seconds. I'm assuming it's a buffer problem. You'll have to turn it off for 20-30 seconds, then find the video again. The same thing happens with Netflix and Tubi, but takes longer to happen. Every 2-3 weeks the main menu locks up completely upon turning it on, and doesn't respond to the remote at all, even the power button. This requires the unit to be unplugged for at least 3 minutes. As a BluRay/DVD player it's sharp and crystal clear, BUT if you use the subtitles and then turn them off, for the rest of the movie you will see every sign and on-screen text in the movie displayed in whatever language is last in the subtitles options. For example, say the subtitle options are English, French, and Spanish - if you use the English subtitles for one scene in the movie and then turn the subtitles off, you will see a Spanish translation of every sign in the movie for the rest of the movie. Very annoying.

Only tried it twice but it seems to start quickly and ties well into my system. I have a Logitech device that runs everything and works fine off that remote
