I had rented a movie and was relaxed and ready to enjoy watching it. My DVD player would not turn on. I checked the batteries in the remote and they were good. I guess this must be the life span of a Sony DVD player. Disappointed

I suggest you buy the same brand as your tv .the remote etc is always easier when you install .

Posted .Hi benoitd, This model BDPS1700 does not have the capability of connecting the internet wirelessly, other models have. Streaming apps frequently lock up

Amazon Prime frequently locks up, crashes and I have to start it over. At times the entire player locks up and becomes unresponsive at which point I have to physically unplug it.

The issue I have is with the video turning to a black screen when the temperature of the unit goes up. Not insanely hot, just up to warm.

I'm at the point of purchasing a new one. About once a week I have to remove power, wait 1 minute then apply power just to get it to open the disc door.

It keeps messing up the audio and it is very annoying to watch a movie when the lips move but the sound does not match. Keep having to reset it to factory settings in order to get it to work properly. Do not recommend this player.
