    Do Not Get This DVD Player!

    I bought this DVD player and was quite excited as this was my first Blue-Ray DVD player. Well my excitement was short lived. While playing DVDs, it woulf pause, skip, and jump around sporadically. My dvds are in great condition before you wonder about the condition of those. I always keep them in their cases and do not touch the "reading" side. I returned after a few days to get an LG Blue-Ray player, and that one works like a charm. Avoid a headache, don't get this

    thank goodness a repair guy told me to check into a 4k, blue ray machine. The price was almost the same and I had been looking at the 4k's, but they were so expensive. I haven't purchased yet but plan to soon

    good if your power doesn't go out

    I bought this under a year ago. I had a power outage the other day and the whole player would not turn back on. I tried every outlet in the house. It may have had a defect from the start who knows. It did have apps on it but most were pay for apps.

    I bought this in April of 2019. In November I found that the Ethernet was no longer functioning. I wasn’t able to get much help from Sony, but in truth I didn’t try very hard because we really only use it to play movies for my kids. Two days ago it stopped playing discs. When you insert the disk they no longer spin, only a month after the warranty was up. I’ve always been a fan of Sony products, but this is very disappointing. Won’t be buying another Sony Blu-Ray.

    I bought this one to replace my old Samsung, that is still working, before it give up the ghost. My favourite video activity is making movies from my trips with pc movie editors. All the blue ray discs I produced play normally in the old one but when tried on the new one, some indeed play, others play but the menu do not work and others were not recognized at all by the device.

    Sometimes it freezes up randomly and the only way to get it to work again is by unplugging the power cord completely, very frustrating. I have the older version from 2015 and I wish they still sold that one because it is so much more reliable.

    Just say no. As other reviewers have mentioned, this "smart" blu-ray player has an issue with regions. It falsely denoted some discs as not being able to read due to being in the wrong region - which was absolutely not true. The discs played just fine on my son's Xbox and other players. I took it back the same week. Not worth the time or effort.

    Says it is a streaming player, but has no wifi. You need to plug it in with an ethernet cable which totally limits its usefulness. Look for the wifi version instead.

    Do not buy! I should have read the bad reviews before buying in-store. Why is best buy still selling this, it's defective. Its an easy set up. But it's Not working after only using twice in 4 months - won't turn on either manually or with remote. I bought this unit because of the trusted brand SONY. But it's Absolute junk! I can't return it, too late. I just threw away $73 bucks. Very disappointed.

    Not wifi. Went in to the store and they had none on the shelf. Had an associate help me, and never asked if I wanted wifi or wired internet.

    Got it all hooked up turned it on it worked. The next day it didn't, had no power at all tried different outlets nothing
