I bought this as an open box item. I had no issues with other open box items from Best Buy. From the start, the BluRay player was very loud from the disc turning. I had to turn the volume to compensate the noise. Eventually got glitchy where I had to return it. I bought this with the Geek Squad warranty. They refunded it and gave me store credit. Used that to buy a new Sony BDP. Would recommend the player but not as an open box product.

Sony does not appear to be what it used to. This arrived brand new in the box with no apparent damage. I hooked it up and then powered up the unit. When trying to open the disc feeding door to load a disc, it would not open. You can hear the motor trying to open the door and eject the tray, but it will not slide out even if you hold the door open manually. It is going back to Best Buy today.

The quality of the product is great for the price.

What a disappointment While the video disk feature works (which is why I purchased a new player), the video streaming apps are very limited, and I found out later I could not update or add any new apps. Thus I can't use this for Amazon Prime even if I pay for the subscription. There should be an apps update feature. Still thinking about returning the device for something more flexible.

after having a sony dvd player for 7 years i expected the same great quality. this one is junk! not even 4 months into it and it stopped reading any discs put in (bluray, dvd, cd, ect..) sony was no help at troubleshooting and updates didnt fix the issue. had to ditch it for an LG. do NOT recommend

I've had this blu ray before and all i can say is that it keeps jamming the dvd/blu ray. Not too many options for a decent price anymore.

Excellent customer service in selecting the correct Streaming Blue Ray Palyer. Very pleased with the performance.

I bought this to connect to Netflix, however this model does not come with wireless WiFi. Had to return.

I bought a Sony BD-1700, BD-3700 and a BD- 5700, they all clamped the output so that it was slow and went in and out while streaming.

For the price, I never expected a top shelf DVD player with many features but I did expect one that did what was expected such as opening the drawer to insert a disk. Because it wasn’t even capable of performing that routine and critical task this is the furthest I can go in my review

I had a BR player that you needed the remote control to use but I lost it! So... I got this one!

While watching a DVD it would freeze up periodically. We returned it.

This Blue ray player give you everything you need at very good price. I'm happy to purchase it.

Bought this for my grandma and it was only used once until it didn’t work again. Sisc got stuck. Item would not open and would not turn off. Don’t buy!

Not all cables are with it. Had to go purchase the cables that was needed.

This unit will only perform with a blue ray on not on my std. dvd collection.

works perfect for viewing. simple instructions easy to use. sales person helpful

For some reason I can't get it to run with my TV.....probably my ignorance, but why such a hassle just to hook up a DVD player?

The HDMI connection is not good. I had to tape it. If the player moves the connection is lost and I have to jiggle the cord.

Stopped working on the 25th day after purchase. Power came on but tray wouldn't open. And the player can't be turned off. Used the Sony website for trouble shooting but none of their suggestions corrected the problem. Called Best Buy, they won't take the player back as it is past 15 days. Stuck with the possible expense of having to send the player to Sony repair. Won't buy Sony or Best Buy.
