I purchased this Blu-ray player a while back as a housewarming gift. The receiver has not complained about it, so I decided to buy one for myself, as I moved into a new place. So far, it is working great, and no issues.

For just a simple plain DVD player it works great very easy to use plug-in play, quality the picture is very good

Needed a new Blu-Ray player. Not happy with Samsung. They made a crappy player and then didn't take care of the problems later. Hopefully the Sony will last 10 years. Great knowledge by my Best Buy Salesperson.

I know every guy says that in the locker room, but in this case, it's true! This Blu-ray player is exactly the small size I needed but without sacrificing features or playback quality. Great value and cute as heck!

The quality of the picture is amazing, as advertised. The interface is very outdated (but functional) and the form factor is very large for a disk player. It's REALLY wide and deep, but height isn't an issue if you are concerned about fitting it in a shelf. It was also a little bit expensive, but the HDR content is amazing on an HDR-capable TV.

Basic player that's easy to operate and plays all DVDs.

I very much like the Sony Blu Ray BDP S1700 DVD Player that I previously owned and just gave out after lasting 5 years, so I know all about operating it and was very glad to find the exact model in the store to replace it. I did give it only 4 out of 5 stars because like all such players on the market today it no longer includes video/audio line inputs/outputs that used to be called RCA connections. Now that there streaming everybody just uses HDMI to connect things but I like to have line inputs/outputs anyway.

Bought for my dad for a birthday gift and it was easy to setup and easy for him to use.

I'm so old I went in to BB and asked the rep for a combo DVD/VCR player, only to be told they they don't sell VCR players anymore. So after my education, I purchased this DVD player. It works for both Blu-Ray and not Blu-Ray (which most of my DVDs are). Can't go wrong for around 50 bucks.

This is a great Blu-ray player and works great to stream from YouTube, Netflix, or Prime Video. Apps are already loaded. Be aware that this one is less expensive because it has wired LAN connection only. No Wi-Fi. Not a problem for me as I have a LAN outlet right at the TV location.

Love this DVD.player. I bought this for my handicap sister and she has no issue using it. Very easy to use. Great purchase.

I needed to move my current Sony Blu-ray player upstairs to replace the ancient Sony DVD player/recorder, so I needed a new Blu-ray player for the home theater. Even at its low price point, this model has all I need and more. I was surprised to discover how much smaller and lighter it is than the BDP-S390.

This is nice and compact. It has both DVD and Blue Ray features.

...I finally started getting Blu-ray movies, so needed a player. Bought this item, knowing it would be good since it is Sony, but didn't expect it to be as good for this low price! I have tried some of my DVD's in it, and it also makes them look a ton better as well, so I am a happy-camper/viewer!

Hubby did his research and we purchased this on a sale and after we paid for it and some movies decided since it was such a great price and a good model that we'd get another one for our 9 yr old daughter to have in her room. This way WE didn't have to watch her Pokemon videos with her he says lol.
