We have a Samsung TV and the Sony player synced up with it okay. When the Sony player is turned on, the TV auto switches to the input the player is using. It also has a nice feature which allows the player to remain in standby mode which gives very fast start-up times. You can switch this feature off if you are energy conscience, Remote is small in size, but well laid out.

Worked great. Had an earlier (much earlier) Sony DVD player that could not play many newer DVDs. Very happy with the salesperson’s recommendation.
