Beyond being simply a player, it offers several streaming services as well, including a youtube player. All functionality is complete and in essence, it DOES turn your TV into a smart TV (albeit without the internet surfing). Preloads are nice, and they offer a fair amount of other options. Wish that it had a sleep mode or inactivity timer, and that it offered universal controls for more television brands than it does (I think there are about 6).
