In general I have good things to say about Sony Products and their players last a good long time-- I'm figuring with these two backups I can keep from having to replace my DVD collection until 2121.

I feel from my conversation that he genuinely has not ever heard of a problem. But, that doesn't mean there is a problem. So, got the insurance, they will replace the unit in that time period, and I feel confident that the Walmart units may have been mishandled by the unloading crew.
