It's a pretty standard blue ray player. Very smooth. Easy set up also.

This is the best blue ray I have purchased. It connects easily to wifi and updates are a breeze. No more connecting device to other sources to receive updates. Updates are automatically downloaded in a whiz. It performs as expected, no complaints whatsoever.

So easy to set up, works fast and the remote works with my Sony television as well! Great buy!

After one month of use, the dvd player is performing as expected. The wireless set up was straight forward and quick. The dvd player is adequate. The only thing that has gone wrong so far is connecting to the wifi on two ocassions. I had to unplug the unit because the unit did not recognize the remote. Overall, though, this player is a good value for the price.

Like the title says, you have to work hard to screw up a BD player. These things are basically commodity items at this point. Unless you need analog outs, dual HDMI or one that is 17" wide to match the rest of your stuff in the rack, this thing will take care of business. It does boot quickly and has a decent amount of smart apps in case you have an older TV. Hard to go wrong for a Sony player at $64.

I used the blu ray player to see how it would work on a non-blue-ray DVD. I did not think the closed caption was that good, so used the TV closed caption. When you pause the DVD and then resume, it's slow because it brings up the startup screen, and when you press play again, the DVD starts, but it's slow, and doesn't tell you it's loading. I only used it once, so may have missed some kind of setting that would help.

As a Blu Ray player, this is awesome. As a smart device, it does have some snafus. I don't like to keep it connected to my WiFi 24/7, so it's tricky connecting it again to open apps. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to connect so I can watch Netflix. Otherwise, great buy for the money if you don't have a smart TV . I have a Sony HD TV so the remote with the player works with many of the TV functions.

This was our introduction to streaming video services, love it.
