Plays DVDs/Blurays and netflix. BUT NO LONGER SUPPORTS AMAZON PRIME!!!! I had to contact Sony to find out that my serial number was too high/new to have Prime Video. "Note: BDP-S1700 and BDP-S3700 players with serial numbers lower than 4000000 are not affected by this change. New BDP-S1700 and BDP-S3700 players with serial number 4000000 or higher were not sold with, and do not include, support for Prime Video."

Great dvd player . compact with all the bells and whistles. I love that it has wifi and I can watch netflix. got it as a gift from my sons. I would recommend this dvd.

Easy to use and setup in less than 5 mins! All blu-ray and dvd movies look great! Wi-fi and Mirroring simple to use! Blu-ray player works great with mobile and usb tethering!

I actually bought this to play cds with an old stereo that we have, but it appears that it wasn't compatible with the older technology. I ended up hooking up our older dvd player to the stereo and using the bluray player to play dvds, It has good quality for that and is easy to use. I also tried the streaming option. I've only tried it a few times. It seemed ok with Krackle but with tubi the movie I tried it on kept freezing. We have Century Link and just upgraded to 40mbps, It doesn't look like you can add streaming services to what they offer. I wanted to add CBS.

Very good picture. Just slightly noisy when turning on, loading and turning off. During use it is quiet. Very easy to use.

My old DVD player gave up playing blue ray. This much smaller player is pretty awesome, and the low price was a pleasant surprise.

This is a great dvd player. It was really easy to set up and it takes very little space. Makes using netflix really easy in a room that I don't want to have a cable box.

First Blu-ray player I've owned and it's great that it also connects to Netflix and other streaming services! Haven't had any issues with the wifi!

I purchased this DVD player for a grandsons room, and haven't seen him since! The picture is surprisingly crisp when playing a disc and the internet comes through just as smooth as more expensive units. I highly recommend this unit for most viewing applications.

This player has been in my home for the past few months, and we use it every day...for extended periods of time. We are intimately familiar with it's functionality. Overall, this is a small, rather inexpensive, unit that performs "meh". On-screen guides are good. The touted 300 app's is way overblown. You might use 2 or 3. They overstate that one by a lot! The player works ok, but is rather glitchy. Netflix in particular has a tendency to freeze up our player, requiring a reboot, aka, unplugging the device. I have considered returning my player, since it interrupts our viewing. Even our old broken player did not freeze this much. Overall, I am a bit disappointed in Sony here. I expected more from a good company...and perhaps I got a lemon.

Bought this blue-ray dvd player to play my new Gregg Allman dvd . Works great and plays all dvd's fine , and cd's . The included apps are a bonus ! Love it so far !

The unit is very good for Blue Ray. It has several features, but is a little difficult to get to set up for all features. Thus the 4 star rating.

This blu-ray player is very compact and fits in a small shelf in entertainment. Many streaming channel, used primarily for base and professional wrestling. Quality picture.

bought two of these, one for each of my granddaughters. easy to set up and use. the kids love these players. also great for streaming

Simple. Compact. Wifi capable. It does what it says it will do. You can feel the heft of the (minimalized) Sony quality inside - compared to some similarly priced alternatives. It's sturdy. It's my preteen kid's first player, and I think it will be outstanding for his purposes (playing movies through television speakers). It requires the remote to operate. The only buttons on the box itself are power and eject. It's only output is the HDMI. No onscreen display.

I haven't bought a Blu-ray for about 7 years, & I can't get over how much smaller this new one not to mention the quality of the picture. Recommend it highly!

I currently own over 600 DVD and Blu-ray movies. I've owned at least 5 previous versions of media players, VHF, LazerDisk, DVD and Blu-ray (3 so far) and PS3. My playstation 3 (PS3) has been the best at upscaling my old DVD until now. I tried two other Blu-ray players, Samsung and Vizo both were disappointments. My new Sony player's upscaling and digital imaging is the best!

Compact design & easy setup. Picture quality was great! Like how it automatically changes video source on TV.

This blue ray is a great product for me since I don't have cable. I can use YouTube,Amazon,WWE and even mirror my phone on the Tv. I really liked this Sony blue ray.
