this is what I bought from Best Buy to replace the "RCA to HDMI' INSIGNA convertor. NATURALLY IT WAS MORE COSTLY - - BUT IT WORKS AS THE CONNECTIONS FRON THE DVD PLAYER TO THE TV IS HDMI TO HDMI. THNX

A very good streaming blu-ray disc player, for the price.

It is what it is. It's just an inexpensive Blu-ray player. I picked this up for watching anime and it did great. I have since upgraded to a Panasonic DP-UB820, but this did it's job for the time I used it just fine.

I had one previously and they are pretty reliable. Its easy to understand the operation and functions.

love, love, love this blu-ray player! So easy to set up and use. Especially for those of us who are technology challenged.

I purchased the Sony Blu-ray player to play DVDs with older material on them so HD was not my main consideration since the original material was not going to be HD. The wireless features were nice but my Vizio HD TV and Roku system were already able to do that. I now have the player connected to another TV. The reason for this is that the Sony Blu-ray player was not compatible with the Vizio TV. When it was connected the system recognized that there was a device connected but the home screen never appeared. When I turned the Blu-ray player off a prompt appeared saying there was no source device. When I turned it on the prompt disappeared. I then connected the player to my Sharp HD bedroom TV and when I went to the correct HDMI source the home screen immediately came up. The Sony Blu-ray player seems to be a fine player and now my hard-wired bedroom TV has the wireless connections it didn’t before but if I want to play DVDs on the much larger Vizio TV I will have to get a different player – and make sure it is compatible with the TV.

I bought this dvd player to use for my TV. It is a very nice external DVD player and so simple to use. The instructions are very clear.

Works like a charm and I love that is so simple to operate. It comes right up on my TV screen and loads without me having to take any extra steps. It came with the cable in the package so I did not have to spend more money on that.

Even though I only use this for playing DVDs, it works great. It was easy to connect to my tv and it plays all DVDs, both Blu-Ray and regular.

I was able to watch blu ray video as well as listen to music cds which I liked. I believe that it takes two remote controls to handle tv and player which confuses me. It has been a hit or mis for me to get player to play cd and videos, control volume,etc.

I love this Blu-ray DVD player I use it all the time to watch movies and TV shows it really helps with my anxiety.

Easy of use, just plug it connect the HDMI cable turn Wi-Fi on and watch DVDs or stream .I recommend it.

Great product for the $ ! Got a couple of these for Christmas from 'Santa' & children are very happy with their own players.

Love the player. Even though the salesman at BB said you couldnt hook up an external HD woth movies on it and play them, i knew better. Ended up replacing all the players in the house with these.

I would give this a higher score if it didn't crash 2 or 3 times a week. And by crash I mean having to power it up, reconnect to my network (find wifi and its password) and then log back in to all app subscriptions. PITA. It is a little slow when using the remote. There is a delay when you hit a button and it appearing on the screen. Why are remotes with keyboards not the norm? Why are we using arrows to select letters and numbers? Also, I don't know why you can't download whatever app you want. That is more of an industry issue. To end on a positive note, I do like the unit. I use it everyday. When it works, it is great.

I like the smaller players as I don't have much room on my stand. This Sony Blu Ray was perfect. Plays DVDs and CDs to. Great value player, picture is excellent, outputs Full (1080p) HD, lots of options in the menu for power users.
