Basic, no-frills 4K UHD disc player. Doesn't play games, remote is very simple, but if all you need is a 4K disc player, this is a great value. Supports HDR10 & Dolby Vision. Also a great choice if you're connecting to Sony equipment as system control is integrated (e.g. powering off the TV will also power off the player). Recommended.

To be fair, I have not streamed Blu Ray discs on this player yet, but I have streamed DVDs and 4K discs. Yes, the player does what it's supposed to with 4K discs. I'm happy with the image there. Where this player shines for me, though, is with the DVDs - especially from old TV series from the 80s and 90s. I've watched old 80s detective/cop shows on this player, and the picture quality is great...better than my previous Sony Blu Ray/DVD player with 4K upscale did. On 90s sitcom DVDs, the picture has really come to life here, too. I'm sure there are better players out there, but for the money, this works well. Is the menu kind of bare? Sure. But I also didn't buy this player to be a streaming device. Do I think it was weird that I had to turn on Dolby Vision? Yes. Is it enough to take away stars? No. The player does what I need it to do. Period. When purchased on sale, it's a great deal. Should I end up experiencing any of the freezing issues, I will try to update, but so far, that has not been a problem.

Easy to set up. Easy to use. Great picture. Crisp and clear.

It works well. Upscaling looks good. Sometimes it is slow to register a new disc is why I deducted one star. 4K movies looks great especially when source material is best quality.

I bought this to work with a TV which could no longer get wifi. This player and a hdmi cord were all i needed to be back watching all my streaming servicese over the internet. Watching blueRay or DVds are super clear. So why 3 stars well it would be 5, but it will not switch seamlessly between internet or movie mode. Where ever you start to go to the other you have to turn it off and restart. If there is away around this, i couldn't figure it out and have been to impatient to call when it only take seconds to turn it off and back on. Otherwise a nice player, good internet wise, good dvd wise.

Works well with the television, used it infrequently.

I purchased this 4k BD player for my secondary viewing room. It has all the bells and whistles that I was looking for; great 4K viewing, Dolby Vision/HDR 10, and lossless audio for Atmos, and DTSX. It's easy to use and set up. The one weakness (though not for me); is the small app selection, which doesn't always include 4K streaming or Atmos audio.

This player has received top reviews, and for good reason. Extremely easy to use and actually improves picture quality of some DVDs, particularly older ones. I own 2 of them. An absolute bargain for the price.

Really haven’t used it that much, but so far I really like it. It’s easy to use & provides a very good picture. The cheapest price is always right before Christmas.

I purchased this Sony dvd player based on recommendations from an in store Sony representative, the player gives a beautiful picture on all DVD formats, it is connected to my Sony mini led tv, hta-5000 soundbar and Sony subwoofer it plays and sounds excellent. So far very happy with the player.

This is the best DVD player I’ve ever had great picture couldn’t ask for a better DVD player. Great product. Great price salesman was very helpful but highly recommend.

Works well. Plays UHD Blu-Rays, Blu-Rays, and DVDs without a problem and access them pretty promptly. Wish it had a few more options to download more streaming apps.

Was recommended this player by a friend after my 3D Samsung started stuttering. Plays very smooth and works as intended. May not have the bells and whistles of more expensive players but the picture is great.

Awesome 4k player supports usb play back of hard drives and flash drives. Plays all 4k movies that i know of at this current time. Quallty is fantastic on my new Samsung 4k tv. Love this plays cds, dvds, blu-rays, 4k s. So on. You will love it. Cone pick up yours now at best buy.

Small and compact, works well. A little tough to navigate to on digital tv with Roku, but basically I have no complaints. The picture and sound quality is excellent. Overall, a very good blu-ray DVD player.

Ok I’m impressed with my new 4K Blu-ray player. I had to replace my old tv and old DVD player and was having a hard time choosing a Blu-ray player and this one was on sale so I got it and was so glad I did. Very easy to hookup and use. Great picture and clarity on movies.

I like being able to watch my dvds and the picture is great. It is easy to operate and easy to switch from tv to blue ray player and this suits me. I bought the tv at the same time.

I bought this to replace three other 4k blu ray players that I have purchased from different manufacturer's over an 18 month period. All of them had serious issues of one kind or another. So far, this one has NONE of those issues. Good quality player that does what it's supposed to do.
