This works fine for Blu-Ray, but we have had consistent problems with skipping on 4K. Often we have to eject the disk or restart the player mid-movie to get it playing correctly again, which really diminishes the viewing experience. This is the second one we have tried (exchanged the first one hoping the skipping was just a fluke) and we are still having the same problem. Given that we got this for sake of watching 4K movies it is a real disappointment, and we are returning it to try another brand.

Has a lot of trouble connecting to streaming services and freezes up sometimes when it actually does connect. First disc I played froze half way into movie. Top it off I missed out on a $60 price match because I found out too late it went on sale a week after I bought it.

Lasted just a few months before it started freezing up and then it would return to the main menu. It would do it when it got near the end of a disc. I have multiple Sony DVD players and so far the maximum time I have gotten out of one is a year and the average is just a couple months.

Audio goes out occasionally and needs to be reset. Requires pressing buttons on remote and on unit multiple times

A complete waste of money. Constantly freezes my movies and Best Buy refused to even replace it. Awful product. Worse service

Plays DVDs, Bluerays, and even streams app content. This is what we needed to play our old library.

It does not have a digital optical connection. The menu is not as nice as my older Samsung. It does play the Blueray and UHD.

The rating was solely because this was sold to me as a 'region-free' player. It's not. Apparently there's an issue with 'region-free' players in the U.S. Don't know all the details, but in order for it to be truly region-free it needs to be 'modified.' Glad I tested it before the Geek installers left.

Great features. Easy to set up and. Video quality, excellent sound quality.

Works great and reasonably priced. Never had issues with any Sony products.

we still have questions about proper cables and output from this device, so cannot rate it highly right now. maybe with more experience we will see the value. 4K may not be important

It does the job and I understand that smart TV's do most of the work, but it would be nice if there were more apps and and internet option. Still many older TV's out there.

Bought this Blu-Ray player, but had to return due to defect. Doesn't have bluetooth support. Okay.. so I looked into the other Blu-Ray player which does. Unfortunately, it doesn't have Dolbi support and the bluetooth headset compatibility is limited.. Seriously, why does it seem like Sony is very conservative when it comes to bluetooth? (same thing with PS4 being bluetooth, but limited in compatibility). Ultimately, had to return because the volume keys on the controller weren't working.

Pairs great with Sony TVs. Even HD and SD content looks great upscaled.

Do not purchase this player. I purchased it in Feb. 2024 and it has already quit working. Of course, the three month guarantee has expired.

The device hung up twice for no reason Had to restart the DVD to get around the problem.

I didn't like the quality of streaming and it's not taking cd or dvd

This is an amazing player the dolby vision really makes a difference

Sony has built a solid 4k Blu ray player. Got this at a great price!
