Posted .Hi Buyosaur, thank you for sharing your experience. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your Sony - UBPX700M stopped working after a year of light use. We understand this can be frustrating to deal with. Here are some troubleshooting steps you may try to get this issue resolved:
1- Power reset the player. You will need to disconnect the power cord from the outlet and also disconnect the HDMI cable from the player, and leave it like this for 2 minutes. Then plug the power cord back into the outlet and turn it on
2- Try a different electrical outlet
3- If the player is still not turning on, you can try to press the power button located in front of the player directly and wait to see if the power light comes on.

Went through all the fixes on the internet and Sony support. Nothing work! Then it had no audio output. Returned to Sony. Awaiting replacement. Hopefully new one will not have same issues…

The installer took away the boxes and the owners manual, I need that with the warrantee etc.

This is completely unacceptable and most of the time unit doesn’t even recognize that the source is HDR compatible.

Constantly "freezes" at random times during movie playback. Sometimes once or sometimes constantly. Seems to freeze more the longer I have owned it and Best Buy will not accept it as return period has expired. Avoid this model!

Then, despite being in “excellent” condition, it did not come with a power cord. Online customer service said to take it to my closest store for an exchange. At the store, they would only exchange it for a new one, and they were going to charge me the difference in price. They also did not have any power cables in stock. I just had to return it.
