Works great. 4K looks and sounds fantastic. I do wish Samsung still made a 4K Blu-ray for compatibility but my TV recognized the Sony so it was easy to set up.

Best value for the dollar (especially when on sale) among the streaming 4K Ultra HD players on the market today. List price is now over the top, but I was able to get it for $150 during Black Friday week in 2021. Works especially well with Sony TVs, which will turn on when the X700/M is powered up and also recognize the HDMI port the 4K player is plugged into. You can then start watching a movie on a disc or stream to the TV.

This and another player I recently purchased from Best Buy will likely be the last player I purchase as the gap between physical media versus streaming content is narrowing. There still remains a difference though and it was enough to justify the cost. This player is quite, fairly quick to boot up and begin playing. The picture quality and sound does Justice to my setup and though it gets beat my streaming service like Netflix in terms of ease of use, I don’t mind inserting a disc due to the added depth the picture this unit produces combined with the amazing sound pulled from the 4k discs I’ve amassed.

It is no longer the norm to own physical copies of media, but I prefer an object I can touch to a collection of code that I may or may not actually own. I know that makes me "old" but oh well... Once we had a 4K TV it was inevitable that we get the matching Blu-ray player. This Sony model fits the bill perfectly. It is a small footprint but it has a heft due to its hardware. It is quick at loading even 4K discs, reliable and the picture is gorgeous. These players are all more expensive now - thanks digital code only people - but this one is a very good price for an amazing product.

Nice Blu-ray player. Allows me to access video, picture, & music files on my computer. Videos play very clearly. Taking a bit to figure out the remote.

Coming from the Sanyo 4k player and Xbox Series X, the x700 is a huge upgrade. Dolby Vision is a nice addition but I think it personal preference when it comes to HDR format. I watch on LG C1 and so far First Man, Justice League ZS, and IM 7 look fantastic! I believe X700 handles motion blur better and I dont see judder. I use toslink to activate Dolby Digital on my Polk Mini.

Over all I am pleased with this purchase. It has a good picture, the remote is easy to use and set up was a breeze. Initially, I had difficulty deciding between this player and another brand that had similar functions, but didn't have wifi and was a slightly less expensive. Since this one had apps, for direct streaming, I decided to spend the extra a and get this one. I thought it would be like my ROKU and I could add all the apps I wanted. I was disappointed when I found it only have 14 apps and there was no way to add more.

Very nice Sony 4K BluRay player, works very well with my LG tv and sound bar. Picture quality is outstanding and is very easy to use. The remote controls are placed for ease of use. This is my second Sony BluRay player and I couldn’t be happier with the purchases. Like going to the movies in my living room.

I don't use DVDs often (about 4-5 times per year) so I haven't used all the options. It does the job. I do prefer to use this for streaming Youtube. The picture quality is far better than when I use my TV's app. The picture quality is far superior to my previous DVD player as well.

4K great quality picture next bring on 8k. Definitely go with 4K for now until 8k occurs then buy 8k DVD player. Always go with the new technology.

Bought this to pair with QN90B 85" and I couldn't be happier. Great sound and really easy to set up.

Plays DVDs and BluRays well. (I returned a more expensive player which did not.) Turns on and opens disk drawer through the LG OLED TV remote without problem, but seems to need Sony remote to eject and turn off. Not a big problem.

I don't have a 4K TV so I cannot vouch the picture quality but I found the sound quality particularly good. I had several DVD players of different brands and I found out that a Sony player can read DVD/Blue-ray slightly dirty or with minor scratches that were rejected by other brands of players. So when I had to replace my entertainment center DVD, I choose the Sony UBP-X700. I only put 4 stars because of the absence of a display (common to all brands of recent players).
