Has been good so far. Works as expected. Connects to wifi readily. No issues with disc play. Overall happy with it.

Quiet operation, simple setup, and performs every function well. Sony gets a nod from me for offering a digital coaxial output.

Player froze repeatedly while streaming Netflix. Could not return to the Netflix menu without restarting the device. The first day of use, the Netflix and Youtube interface worked well and better than the replaced Sony player, with faster load times and more responsive menu commands. The second and third days of use included repeated screen freezes that completely locked the unit, as it remained unresponsive to menu commands. Received disk error when attempting to play the first Blu Ray disk. This was a standard Blu Ray disk, not a 4K movie. No damage or dirt was apparent on the very clean disk. After ejecting five times, the disk suddenly played flawlessly. The software was updated before the first use. I will return and try another 4K player model.

As far as playing the discs, it's great. However, the "smart" apps need some help. For example, the Amazon Prime Video app complains that it can't load. It needs updated. This model has been out for quite a long time, so I'm guessing that Sony has stopped updating it, but it's still a current model, so this is NOT acceptable.

Bought to use with new 4k TV and see some of my favorites in higher definition. Works well.

This is the perfect match for my Sony 65” 4k tv for whatever reason the ps5 does not play 3-d blu-ray discs but this blu-ray player does.

Works great. It has many functions that an older player doesnt have. Would recommend buying it.

I've bought Sony brand players before and this did not disappoint. The 4K resolution is great and played well with my new TV. Definitely would recommend this.

works great. Does everything it says it will do. Only thing is the HDMI cable is so short it won't reach a T.V.

For its price alone, well worth. Yet in practice I encountered a number of stutters and freezes. After tinkering around with some settings as sone people have suggested I have had better luck. If issues persist i might just swap it until I get lucky.

I read the reviews before I bought it. I don't think the picture from the DVD player is any better than my Samsung DVD player.

Bought it cause my Sony 800 (no "m") doesn't have Dolby Vision and wanted to watch Matrix UHD with Dolby Vision, so I bought this one. Feels like a step back from the 800 (cause it's 100 better than 700?) The remote is small and the interface feels sluggish and when u turn on Dolby Vision on the 700/m, it's all on all the time except for DVDs, which makes it hard to enjoy a movie. I can't tell if the movie has original HDR or is added by the player. It gives it a fake Vision feeling and I'm def not feeling that. Great budget player but if I had the money, I'd save for the 800/m.

Have played both blu-ray and 4k DVDs with no issues. Have only had 2 months so we will see how long it lasts.

Mark put our DVD player in, he did a good job and showed us how to work it. We are happy with the DVD player and Mark!

This review is more about my experience with Best Buy then the blu ray player.. never was able to use it because when I picked it up it was missing parts and the manger was unhelpful offer to sell me a HDMI cable because it was not in the box, also missing remote. So I returned it.

Great product. Permits hours and hours of home entertainment. First purchase was much larger and, due to its size, had to be returned. I recommend it highly.

The Sony UBP-X700/M has worked for both Blu-ray and DVD movies. This unit replaced an earlier Sony Blu-ray player of the same model (no "/M").

It is a nice DVD/Blu-ray player. The streaming is terrible. The device freezes often. Many times cannot watch an entire movie without it freezing. Just recently the entire device stopped responding. Will not even turn on any longer. I am extremely disappointed that a Sony device would provide such a poor user experience.
